South Street Kitchen provides a fantastic vegetarian brunch menu during the day including soup, sandwiches, salads and my personal favourite, their on toast range. They cater brilliant for gluten free options, having most of their menu as gluten free or gluten free options and have many vegan options.As well as their well known daytime options, each weekend they do a brilliant evening menu which changes week to week. I've eaten this several times and been surprised at how well they can do different food types!SSK is great, with lovely staff and brilliant value (each brunch option is about £8) and undeniably tasty. “Simply, some of the best food and wine served anywhere. Ok, you can get cheaper elsewhere but not of this special! We sampled 2 wines both new to us. Unexpectedly excellent. Wonderful to be able to buy quality wine by the glass.Food was imaginative and perfectly cooked and timed for our theatre visit served up by friendly and helpful staff. Obviously a very happy environment to work in.** If you were one of the raucous young men eating at the same time, be aware how much you caused discomfort for eaters and staff alike. Please be mindful no one really appreciates having to put up with a background of your loud and course conversation and piercing guffaws. We all are deserve to be able to enjoy a night out without such interruptions.Well done to the staff!A place not to miss out on. “This is my local cafe and I’m so glad it is! I love the lunch specials, but you have to get there early because they sell out pretty quickly. The baked goods are amazing, especially the carrot cake and mixed berry muffins, as is the coffee, which I do feel is the best in town! It’s always super creamy and smooth. If it’s a nice day I tend to sit outside, it’s just a good relaxing vibe. This place is very toddler/baby friendly too, they have a box of toys, which is very much appreciated for my 3 year old and my 1 year old nephew, I always see other mums here with their babies too.Vegetarian options: This is a vegetarian cafe with vegan options.”
