We called in late on in the day (9pm late for covid restrictions ) but it was quiz night. The staff were very friendly and made us feel welcome. There was a decent selection of Real Ales on which seemed in good condition. We were even offered some roasted tates but we declined since we had just rolled out the balti house.
It's a pub with plenty of drink options. No soap in the toilets and expensive beer, maybe 4 stars rather than three. Pop in to the Bessemer and check out their prices. I bet their overheads are massive as well. The first time we came was on bank holiday Monday afternoon and you were closed!

Excellent pub. Good beer, wine selection. Pies are absolutely amazing. Had the steak and ale pie with chips. The pie was delicious with lots of meat and very flavoursome. Staff were all very friendly. The doors are open so lots of air and outside seating too
