Never again cold food bad service £40 in the bin, looks like spending another £40 to get our food again elsewhere....

Looking really forward to Fish & Chips tea on Saturday night,as Onyx fish and chips are gorgeous. Ordered at 18.51 (6.50pm) on Uber like we always do,order went through as normal Onyx fish bar now preparing your food, delivery between 7.15- 7.30 always on time. 7.45 getting hungry now 8pm staving. kept phoning no answer thought really busy 8.15 eating bread and butter, noticed closes at 9pm so got in car went down to pick order up yep you guess it NOT EVEN OPEN dont open Friday and Saturday next door said, it even states on their door open till 9pm, why not let Uber know if you have change times or had to shut in emergency or Uber make sure there open first,sorry if I missed anything with you not being open but just thought I would post as now I think I will ring first in future.

Called in for some lunch with a friend and decided to eat in. Lovely atmosphere, friendly and the food was lovely. I had the kebab batch special but without the batch. The chips were lovely and fresh, not greasy like some of the comments I’ve read on this page. The kebab meat was great and the salad fresh. I also like the way it was presented in proper crockery and not the take out boxes. Really nice lunch, very relaxed and very tasty. Will definitely be going back. Well priced too I thought in comparison with other chip shops in the area. I like mayo before anyone gives negative comments on my picture.

Absolute rip off for third rate food and they cannot even serve it hot over the counter never mind delivery.
Avoid this place like Covid it is disgusting cold food.
I wont go into detail as cannot be bothered ( like Onyx) but just to say most of the other negative reviews mention exactly the issues we experienced.
Hope I am not keeping the big white telephone warm all night !

OMG me and my daughter love this chip shop so much. All the staff are amazingly helpful and friendly and the portions are generous. They are possibly the nicest chips in the whole wide world. We love you guys

Visited here a few times now. Donner meat has a lot of taste to it and portions of meat are large. Had fish and chips first time yesterday, fishes are thick rather than usual thin fish you get elsewhere, fish itself is really tasty and tastes fresh and so white. Will be going again.

I really liked this chippy coming here for months. But the last few visits it's tasted really bad. The chips are beyond dry. Donner meat tasted rubbish. I just fed it to the dog

Second time the order has been delivered wrong and cold!! NEVER again. Curry instead of peas, kebab meat tray ordered … turned up without chips or extra pitta .. tomato warmer than the meal!! Will NOT order from here anymore. £15 for a wrong and clap cold meal… await collection to send back. At top it off handed to me in a plastic bag not even a heat bag … save hymnody guys

After ordering potters steak slice received a steak pie and was told that potters had closed down then change the menu!!!Chips were cold and hard the peas burnt and no flavour very disappointing won’t be using anymore

The food here was absolutely delicious. My mum and I had fish chips and peas, which was obviously fresh and was perfect. My 6 Yr old girl (who I should add is the fussiest eater in the world) had some of the fish bites AND SHE ATE THEM!!! Will definitely return and have recommended to everyone I know.

Went in at lunch the guy was friendly but the food was terrible dry hard chips more than likely re fried from last night or been cooked hours earlier and left in pan. Sausage again I believe was re fried and disgusting. The best thing was the can of pop I chucked the rest so £4.50 for a can of pop never again will I go there. I see now why it was empty.

A 50th birthday treat as didn’t want to sit outdoors at a pub! Ordered two fish and chips and a battered sausage with curry sauce. Chips had a rather odd taste. The batter on one of the fish wasn’t even cooked. Also all the meals were cold and I live literally two mins away. Definitely won’t be going back, very disappointing
