Great staff, very clean shop, speedy service. Fish and chips and curry sauce green value for money. Good quality food at a very competitive price. Free parking in the Albert Street car park.

2 Fish and chip specials, Fish looked to have been fried twice as two layers of batter round a very small portion of fish, made it look bigger than it was, possibly a child's size, Not the usual quality I've had from here in the evening, just treating a friend to lunch, how disappointing and embarrassing it was having said how good they were. Had a bowl of soup with the chips.

Very disappointed with our two fish specials purchased on Friday lunch time at 11:30 am. The fish looked to have been refried as two layers of batter that came off a miniscule portion of the fish. Still a good portion of very nice chips though. Having had Fish Specials numerous times in the evening and all have been good. Thus my disappointment when treating a friend to what I had said was a good lunch option. I know you can do better Summer Lane Fish Bar.

Super service. Nice to see freshly caught UK coast cod and UK grown potatoes with no GM produce. Our Emergency Service on duty personnel are catered for as priority if queuing, which is how it should be.I'm vegan so was actually buying for family so can't comment further, but good ethics on fresh local produce.Large fish £7Small chips £2.80

Update 30/06 - Still cracking value, friendly staff, and massive portions....oh, and it tastes great too. Best chippy in the area.The food here was extremely tasty, and the portions plentiful.They've put covid measures in place, including perspex screens and limited numbers inside at any one time.I ended up queuing outside as it was so popular. I would therefore highly recommend that you book in advance, as they have a separate serving area for collections.The one crisis about this place is they appeared to do little to encourage people to wear face coverings. Despite being in the highest tier, the majority of people going into the shop didn't wear masks - very disappointing. If they'd attempted to address this then they would have received 5 stars.
