Arrived for a late lunch, nice welcome on arrival. Hubby had mixed grill and I ordered posh fish and chips. The staff were polite and the atmosphere was warm and relaxed. We both enjoyed our meals immensely! The portions were large and everything cooked to perfection. A very tasty meal for both. We will be returning again!

Had our Christmas day meal yesterday with family and have to say it was faultless from start to finish. Right from the very beginning a month or so ago we was told the hotel was fully booked, but Rachel did her magic and got 8 of us in for what was nothing short of a perfect experience. We all had our festive 3 course meal, food, staff and the whole experience nothing short of perfection. I think I can speak for all 8 of us that we all were extremely full at the end and contempt with what we had eaten Well done Rachel and all the team for contributing to a great day

I attended the restaurant with my mother and sister this evening at 6.30 on the 6th December 2023. when we arrived we found our booked table waiting for us and sat at it (nobody asked if we were the booked people as the table was booked for 4 and only 3 of us could make it.) after about 5 minutes and looking for a Christmas menu in the tables menus, as this is what we had booked for, My mother went to the bar to order drinks an ask for a Christmas menu, The young lady behind the bar wasn't aware of the Christmas menu being on even though it was advertised as being available from the 15th of November, eventually we received one menu between the 3 of us. We ordered 2 breaded mushrooms and 1 chicken wings for starters, The starters took about 20 minutes to come to the table. The chicken wings where lovely and crisp and had plenty of honey drizzled on them, but both portions of mushrooms were edible but obviously had been fried for far to long and were clearly very dark and too crisp. after we had finished our starters we had ordered our mains which were 2 sirloin steaks medium rare and the Turkey pie, The mains took almost 40 minutes to arrive to the table, and when they did it was clearly visible that both of the steaks where overcooked .After having to ask for steak knives as non had been supplied, Myself and my sister both cut into our steaks, my sisters was medium to medium well and she decided that even though it was over done she could eat it and didn't send hers back, unfortunately my steak was more well done to very well done and I was not prepared to eat it, so I went straight to the young lady at the bar and told her the issue ( it was a different young lady from before ) and she straight away apologised and took the steak back into the kitchen, She returned and told me that it would be about 5 or 6 minute, at this point I decided to order another round of drinks for us so I went to the bar and ordered a non alcoholic pink Gin and lemonade, A rose spritzer and a large Pepsi. The bar young lady behind the bar was very pleasant and polite and apologised that she was having trouble finding the spritzer on the till, I told her not to worry as I worked in the trade my whole working life and the tills can be tricky, She had to ask a gentleman whom I presume was either the shift supervisor or the assistant manager, where to find the spritzer on the till. His answer was where I was a bit bothered as instead of helping he was in my opinion condescending in his answer about it being a wine with a lemonade or soda top, The young lady then had to ask him where the non alcoholic gin was and he answered sounding annoyed ''It's there'' and pointed towards it. I returned to our table with our drinks and my mother and sister were well into eating there meals and my replacement had not arrived yet it it had been about 5 minutes at this point. A further nearly 10 minutes later my steak arrived and it was cooked medium rare this time. after we had all finished our mains I asked how the other 2 meals were, my sister replied that even though her steak had been over cooked it was an enjoyable meal, But my mother said the pie was nice but lacked a decent amount of Turkey but lots of stuffing And that the peas where hard as though they hadn't been cooked properly, the carrot and what she thinks where parsnips were also under cooked and that the cabbage just tasted funny. when the waitress cleared our table she asked if we were ready for our desserts to which we replied we were, we had ordered 2 caramel profiteroles and a chocolate brownie. The desserts took another nearly 15 minutes to come out, they were very nice and well presented, The only slight criticism I have is that the Profiteroles are plain coated chocolate and covered in caramel sauce but that isn't a complaint as much as a correction. Overall the Pub has a nice look and is well presented, But the food leaves a lot to be desired on the cooking side and the service is below par, I don't believe this is the staffs fault but they

Accommodating, friendly staff nothing was too much trouble. Food:Mixed Grill and Rump Steak, steaks cooked perfectly, good quality produce, portion size more than adequate. Acceptable waiting time, considering how busy it was. Fully recommend for an enjoyable evening.

Food really not good. They could not serve a third of the menu due to kitchen equipment being inoperable. They food we finally did receive was overcooked, which was acknowledged by the manager, and he refunded our food costs after seeing what was served without us having to ask. The manager was polite and apologetic. All in all would not recommend, there are plenty of other good pubs with excellent food around Burntwood.

Just been with the family for the Sunday Roast. My sister in law is gluten free. The staff and especially the temporary manager very attentive and helpful in choosing the right food. Had a lovely relaxing time.

Speediness of our food coming out .Had to wait an age to order ,but food came out quicker then I really thought it would, with only 2 staff on and also having to serve in the bar too .If you are going to run a promotion you need to make sure you have the staff to cope ,not the staffs fault at all. They did apologise for the wait .But you get what you pay for ....As in the food nothing special and it didn't cost the earth so can't really complain.

Very busy, not enough staff on. The table we reserved online wasn't ready, and there wasn't anyone free to ask about it. Just a bit stressful when you've come in with a toddler. Although we waited a bit longer for food, the burger and lasagne were quite tasty.
