Great service and great breakfast, we go here as a family alot and the reason being is the customer service and love catching up with Andy who has always gone out his way to come and shake my hand which means alot me and class him as a friend.

This was a birthday party ? of family and close friends with a twelve month old.I had mixed grill which was quite large with a variety of meats which was tasty and very filling ??. the Doom bar beer ? was excellent.All enjoyed their meal.the staff were friendly and helpful especially with the twelve month old girl.Tom our server was very helpful and pleasant and could not do enough for our party.I would recommend this restaurant and we will be back in the near future. Thanks to all made this party so enjoyable.

Christmas Eve breakfast, the place was rammed but the service was fantastic and the food very good considering the volume. Have to give it to the staff, they did a fantastic job to keep on top of serving. Great value for money.

We’ve had Christmas dinner out a few times and this was the best so far. The staff were really attentive and we didn’t feel like an inconvenience. They seemed happy enough to be working on Christmas Day which we haven’t experienced elsewhere having Christmas dinner out previously.The food was really good, tasty, plentiful and we couldn’t finish the desserts let alone the mince pies so they boxed the mince pies up for us to take home without being asked.First time at this pub but certainly not the last.

Location for our Premier Inn buffet breakfast. Nice staff and a good buffet, all clean, tasty, well stocked, staff are responsive and friendly, comfortable. We have stayed here a few times and what I like is that although it's a chain, there are some friendly touches like some toys out, occasional charity drives, little signs written by the staff. I'd probably get a second coffee machine but that's the extent of my feedback. They do a great job!

Had work christmass fuddle here. Small gathering of less than 15 people. The ambience was quiet and warm. Decent parking space behind the pub and direct access to the main road.Kind and very attentive staff members who made sure festive moods are always high at all times. Given that this is a chain the menu is restrictive to basic and common items . Portions were quite generous. Decent selection of wine and other cocktails . So had a pleasant evening overall.Parking: Shared spots with premier inn I think but enough spaces for all.

We had booked here for food before we headed to the snow dome for some snowy fun. I’d been eagerly anticipating some kind of roast dinner all day as my wife has put me on roast dinner rations! I soon spotted a turkey roast on the festive menu..winner winner turkey dinner! Well it felt like we were waiting for Christmas 2024 for our food to arrive! The place wasn’t that busy but the service was awful! Eventually our food arrived; what can I say, the eagerly anticipated roast was a massive let down. Everything was processed and pretty bland. The veg was mushy and the Yorkshire pudding was soggy. Our friend had ordered the same but with extra pigs in blankets which never arrived. My wife on the other hand said the steak she ordered was nice…whether she was just trying to rub it in because I’d smugly ordered myself a roast I don’t know! Anyway, after visiting the bar twice to ask them to clear our plates and bring our desserts they eventually arrived. The waitress didn’t seem to have much of a clue what was going on and seemed fairly bewildered as though she’d just seen a big fat guy on a sleigh fly past! Desserts were ok. Nothing to write home about. Though my step son’s apple pie was more like apple splurge than pie! Where was the pie?!! It was just a splodge of apple filling in the middle of the plate that looked most unappealing. All in all it was a bit of a let down coming here but a bit of sledging at the snow dome afterwards made up for it!

Very disappointing. We had a voucher code for 50% off main meals and in very small print at the end of the T&Cs it said excluding fillet steak, which, of course, we failed to spot. The server asked if we had a code. Three of us ordered fillet steak, but weren't told this was not in the offer. Good customer service would have been to mention this. We waited a very long time for drinks, and then for food, due to the fact that the restaurant was understaffed The steaks were overcooked and the 'triple cooked chips ' were exactly the same as any other chips. Not enjoyable at all. This should have been a nice evening out with friends, but was spoilt by a bill that was double what we were expecting, very slow service and badly prepared food.
Went for lunch on a Saturday. Not very busy. Service fast and pleasant. Typical Beefeater menu but well prepared, generous and tasty.

Went to the beefeater for my works Christmas party and i had 3 course festive meal and it was brilliant. The staff were lovely and friendly especially Jo , Lewis, Tom and Lil. I will highly recommend ??

Love coming to the Merry Monk for breakfast! The staff are always really lovely. Kids feel comfortable. Also such good value: family of 5 eat a massive breakfast for £20!
