Narinda I have known him since I was very young and I used to live across the street to here and come here nearly every everyday to buy some food or even to talk to the lovely staff. 10/10 would recommend. Unfortunately I have moved away since but I still come back from time to time to have their lovely food and to talk to Narinda.

So, why not 5 stars? The coffee.
It’s ok but it’s not great. Latte art is there but the coffee just needs some attention. Maybe the beans(?), a little bitter and no depth of flavour in the shot. Do I take coffee seriously? Yes!

We came on spec, on our way through to London from York, and it was so good we made a detour a week later to go there again. I had an injury and the staff made sure I was fully comfortable and well-looked after. We're absolutely going to go back!

My wife, who’s Pakistani origin, was really happy with the halwa puri too and agreed it was fresh, tasty, and good value. Sorry we couldn’t take a pic, it was that tasty! Only giving 4 stars as we haven’t tried the other items on the menu yet.

The Anglesey Arms, 26A The Grn, Burton-on-TrentI came in for a little get together with some friends a couple days ago, I must say that despite what other people are saying I had a really great time , I thought that Tracey and Paul made us feel extremely welcome , the food came out reasonably quick and was excellent ( for reference I had the bbq mac burger) ; the portions was a good size and very tasty!. The pub had a lovely atmosphere’s and like I said the staff was very engaging and friendly. Recommend highly and I will be back again soon!

Fish & Chips, Hunters chicken and Ultimate Southern Fried Chicken burger were all delicious and great value for money. Going back to Sunday lunches, the chef knows how to cook Roast potatoes and Yorkshire puddings! Management and staff all friendly and helpful. Definitely our go to place now.

It used to be a very traditional cask ale venue that was like a home from home… but now it’s under new management, they’ve taken the best from the past… and added a fresh vibe. Lots of tables outside so you can look across the Marina and plenty of tables inside too. Just one toilet but kept very clean.
Service was friendly and quick.
Took my 80+ year old friend for her birthday and she loved it!! We had wine and cake, both delicious. There was plenty of cake to choose from but we had the lemon and raspberry meringue cake and the triple chocolate cake ?

101 Station St, Burton-on-TrentWent on a little beering to Burton to meet some friends, this was the first pub off the train. Dog friendly, and busy vibe at 5pm so we sat outside in the beer garden out back.
Just had the one (very reasonably priced) pint and moved on to some other pubs, but found we were getting peckish. The last two pubs were out of sandwiches so my friend rang the Roebuck to see if they had any sandwiches in stock. The lady answered and said she'd find out and call us back. Which she did, a few minutes later so we headed back to the pub for sandwiches.
Very basic mind - cheese, ham, etc but they were massive! And only three quid and did the job. Then the bar staff told us that it was the landlady that my friend had called, she was on holiday and instead of ignoring my friend she rang the pub and rang my friend back. So we decided to stay there for the rest of our time in Burton.

Baguettes, sandwiches and a selection of home made cakes. Ask for Sue's slimming world fried bread.
There is always a wait as everything is cooked to order. Leave a good tip as ridiculously under priced. Branston Cafe really is the best.

Mac's Cafe appealed so thought we'd give it a go and weren't disappointed. It was doing a roaring trade which is always a good sign. Lady serving was friendly and helpful. Plenty of Full English breakfast options, mostly around £8. We eventually found a table and the breakfast came quickly. Tasty, filling and most enjoyable and good value too. Definitely a good place to stop on the way to the Pirelli stadium. Would recommend.

Morrisons Cafe
Wellington Rd, Burton-on-TrentBeing locals, my wife and I have often popped into the Morrisons Cafe for a quick bite and a bit of shopping if needed.
Has a reasonably good selection on the menu and all extremely reasonably priced. But I to say that my favourite has always been their handmade (not out of a box) fish and chips. The chips are fries really but the fish has always been piping hot, coated in crispy batter and most importantly none-greasy.
Every time we have been it was perfect.
Surprisingly the drinks that we had (coffee and lattes) were with free refills!
We recommend visiting at quieter times. I find the service and table availability always much better.
The cafe itself is very clean and tidy and offers a variety of seating options eg. Low table and chairs, cabin style with bench seats and your standard table and chairs.
I found that the staff are very friendly and helpful.
Cafes in supermarkets are on the decline but I sincerely hope that this one keeps going.

Narinda I have known him since I was very young and I used to live across the street to here and come here nearly every everyday to buy some food or even to talk to the lovely staff. 10/10 would recommend. Unfortunately I have moved away since but I still come back from time to time to have their lovely food and to talk to Narinda.

Ambiance was good as it was bustling but didn't feel overcrowded. Great evening. Only downside was sitting near the front door on a really cold night !

And…. The more expensive Primitivo wine is a gem! For afters we had an ‘amaro Montenegro’ - a perfect end to a lovely evening.
Will come here again, and not just because it is great value for money. Loving the people running this place!

From the attention to detail before we’d even arrived, to handling the booking, everything was so thoughtfully and they were accommodating with every request to the service throughout the evening, everything felt so special. It had such a lovely family touch, combined with the finest attention to detail you’d expect from a high end restaurant. Everyone went above and beyond to make every moment memorable from entertaining the kids, to playing my mum’s favourite songs, and even making sure she had her favourite drinks. The Roebuck Inn
101 Station St, Burton-on-TrentWent on a little beering to Burton to meet some friends, this was the first pub off the train. Dog friendly, and busy vibe at 5pm so we sat outside in the beer garden out back.
Just had the one (very reasonably priced) pint and moved on to some other pubs, but found we were getting peckish. The last two pubs were out of sandwiches so my friend rang the Roebuck to see if they had any sandwiches in stock. The lady answered and said she'd find out and call us back. Which she did, a few minutes later so we headed back to the pub for sandwiches.
Very basic mind - cheese, ham, etc but they were massive! And only three quid and did the job. Then the bar staff told us that it was the landlady that my friend had called, she was on holiday and instead of ignoring my friend she rang the pub and rang my friend back. So we decided to stay there for the rest of our time in Burton.

We came on spec, on our way through to London from York, and it was so good we made a detour a week later to go there again. I had an injury and the staff made sure I was fully comfortable and well-looked after. We're absolutely going to go back!
