Really nice hotel. Rooms were nice and clean, plenty of free parking. Close to Burton on trent and Swadlincote. Food and drinks were right next door and very good to. Staff were very polite and friendly.

Got woken up to staff in my room at 9am despite the door being locked we were both asleep in bed was told the key for the room was left from the day before this isn’t good enough I’m absolutely disgusted at this breach of privacySafety: Staff help themselves into your rooms without consent

Well a surprising PI . Good views pub attached with basic menu of what you would expect. The cooked breakfast was good but no coffee machine just instant coffee which was disappointing. But there was nothing wrong with the place that being turned into something that it’s not a purple palace.

Its very below par for a Premier Inn. Looks to be a previous converted hotel, to get to my room i had to wander a 'rabbit warren' Room was what you expect, however missing sockets or phone charging point next to bed,, which is a pain. The tv was Very Small!

It's people that make your stay and the staff at this hotel were so kind and so thoughtful when we checked in at 3am due to a hospital visit with my son who had tonsilitis. Pete on reception couldn't have been kinder and even arranged for a later checkout. Manager next day was also very helpful and even saved my bacon when we left his antibiotics in their fridge!!! ? sleep deprivation at it's finest! There were lovely touches like Halloween snacks for the children and also extras in our room. We will definately stay here again. Exterior of hotel could do with a spruce up but clearly this si head office and not staff. It's people who make your stay, not places and these people are lovely!

Depressingly dank and tired roadside hotel. The only saving grace was the clean sheets and the helpful staff. The pub next door which is used for breakfast smells odd…in three different places with different smells. The room was badly lit and drab. Expensive for what it is. Stayed mid October 2023. I live in eternal hope that I will never have to return.Rooms: Dank. Badly lit. Tired. Clean sheets though.

We had an issue with our booking and Michelle was great in helping us sort somewhere to stay as they were fully booked. Thank you Michelle! You were a life

No where on the website does it clearly state about the no lift situation or I would not have booked this hotel! Got there after driving 2 hours and found out, receptionist was rude and just said “it says on the website we have no lift” With a 3 month old, a 4 year old, 2 suitcases, several bags and a pram, we had to climb 3 different sets of stairs to get to our room in the other side of the hotel. I’ve been through the website and cannot see anywhere that says no lift. Rooms are dated, shower was old and disgusting, only given firm pillows so my neck was killing the next day. Worst premier inn I’ve stayed in.

Hotel side was adequate and comfortable but a little “jaded”. The Stanhope Table Table really needs a good sort out. Decor and furniture vey “tired” meals whilst low priced are served like school dinners. Batter on starters and fish “crunchy” more like concrete. Pie pastry tough to cut. Have never seen such small and thin bacon slices at breakfast. Although not very busy ran out of breakfast croissants with a half hour wait for some to be prepared. Manageress on one evening didn’t have much of a clue about dividing bill on the system and instead of being apologetic treated it as one big joke. Shame because most of the staff whilst friendly came across as inexperienced. This was our first time at a Premier Inn and perhaps our expectations were high based on previous stays at less corporate style venues.

The hotel is a little tired compared to some other Premier inns I’ve stayed in, it’s clean and staff are friendly. We stayed here during a very hot spell so room was hot but there was a fan in the room. Plenty of free car parking. We opted for the meal deal the food was just ok but the staff in restaurant at night really need to be trained in customer service, they let the hotel down badly. Orders wrong, food coming out in dribs and draps, then not paying attention to you when at bar to busy talking to other members of staff. I was pleasantly surprised in morning different staff so much better organised and they looked after you. Would I stay here again yes to hotel but I would eat evening meal elsewhere.
