We came for Christmas Day food. I was surprised how calm it was! I was expecting Sunday afternoon chaos so hats off to the staff for making the day so controlled. The starter wasn't great and the dessert even worse but we only wanted the carvery anyway and had the other 2 because we had to as part of the menu. Carvery was lovely as always but slightly disappointing paying over £100 for 3 people just for a carvery as it was Xmas Day. Always love Toby but wouldn't go for Xmas again.

The staff at the carvery section was welcoming however, it was overall a disappointing experience. The female staff told us that she would come back for the drinks but it never happened. We noticed that we were the only customers that were not checked on by the staff until we paid. The female staff only went to our table just to see if she could get rid of our plates.?

One party member has an onion intolerance, but manager was able to advise what could and couldn't be had from the carvery. Also had advised the chef/ server who it was, to ensure message understood! WELL DONE! Many more 'upmarket' restaurants have not been able to do this!!!Dietary restrictions: See above! We did tell store manager, how well she had done! WE HOPE that this has been passed on to regional management how it was done, and appreciated.

We arrived in a busy Sunday service and were wonderfully looked after by our server Skye - she was brilliant. Three lovely plates of carvery - one King, one standard and one veggie with some pigs in blankets too.We use this carvery regularly and today’s was excellent quality both in terms of taste and value for money… 5 stars thank you :)Vegetarian options: Brilliant - veggies cooked to perfection today

Booked a table online.Arrived at the Carvery and we were seated promptly.Drinks order taken and delivered to table whilst we were getting our food.Food was hot and plentiful.All staff were pleasant and tables were cleared and cleaned swiftly.A very popular venue on a Sunday.

We are regular visitors but today was not good. Food was too cold. The turkey was not carved, it was butchered into bits, not one complete slice. Service came without a smile. Very disappointed with this visit. We appreciate that it was an offer (50% discount) but in our opinion that was all it was worth. You have just lost our custom. Pete Millitt

Excellent service by Kelly who was very welcoming and attentive. Unfortunately the food was of very low quality and bordering inedible. The mash potato was very lumpy, the carrots were undercooked, the stuffing was soggy, the chipolatas were so overcooked they were too tough to even attempt to eat, the roast potatoes were hard and you can tell they hadn't been ruffled before being cooked and the gravy wasn't mixed properly and still had a strong powdery smell. The carver came across quite abrupt and condescending, this isn't the sort of customer service you want to experience. It's a shame how much the food quality has gradually dropped over the years, the kitchen team is clearly lacking a suitable leader and guidance. Bring back Brad and Jed with a blank cheque.

Management taking to many tables and not having enough staff to cope with them, waited over 20 minutes to speak to anyone as the waiters/waitresses were to busy talking at the tills, sat with our empty plates for over 15 minutes, was ignored numerous times when asking for something. Seems as through the management only cared about how much money they could get through the door and not on levels of service provided.

Went today for lunch alone and the 2 ladies made me feel so welcome. The food was amazing. I regularly visit my local toby carvery and have been to many others but Burton is by far the best with outstanding service and delicious food.I wish I was local to the area.Parking: Parking is free and plenty of it and easily accessible for all.
A small Toby in comparison to others so was very crammed on a busy Sunday afternoon.Good food though and relatively new looking.Toilets are individual cubicle rooms and the one I went in was filthy and the toilet seat thrown on the floor.

Watch out for recently introduced car park charges if you do not register your vehicle the fine will cost you more than your great Toby meal...staff do not advise you about this ' they must get commission.'It is rediculous for a hospitality car park to imposes charges if you 'don't register but have booked/reserved a table and are spending hard earned cash, especially at this time.Disgusted. Cars parked pose no threat or danger to other cars or pedestrians, and in addition not a full to capacity car park.Really disappointed in this action.

Love the food here, I had Turkey and Beef roast meat today. Plenty of lovely vegetable choices. The service was particularly good from Katie and Ross. Thank you for a great experience today. See you again soon!Dietary restrictions: I’m gluten intolerant and the staff always go the extra mile to ensure there is no cross contamination on my plate.

This Carvery is lovely, all the staff have always been so helpful, the food is spot on also. Today we were served my Sophie who has always been great and Justin was the carver and does a great job at it also. Highly recommend.

Went for breakfast with the family on Friday 3rd Nov. Only 2 members of staff front of house, majority of tables full of dirty plates, people were having to move them to sit down. There were quite a few customers in but unfortunately they either didn’t have the kitchen staff available or they were just incompetent because the queues for food were terrible. Constantly waiting for everything to be replenished which meant by the time the eggs for example came out the whole queue was waiting for them so more were required. This was the same for all the food items. Management should be ashamed. We will not be returning
