Long time since we enjoyed a meal at a Toby. We arrived without booking midweek and although it was a school holiday we managed to get a table. The staff are all very polite and pleasant and looked after us very well throughout our stay. The meat was well cooked and very tasty, a combination of beef, turkey, and ham between us but the pork looked just as nice. As we're the trimmings, although sadly both the mash and the gravy were a bit on the watery side when we visited so they dropped a star there.Overall though, a place to recommend and we shall return.

We went to Norton Canes Toby carvery for a breakfast, lovely food and great service from the chef Cyril, he made us feel welcome and went out of his way for us to enjoy our breakfast by doing us scrambled egg and having a chat with us.

Went for breakfast and didn't disappoint. Had a lot more on the menu then the usual Toby we go to in Walsall. Will be our new no.1 breakfast place going forward.

I came with my partner for lunch as a treat. We usually enjoy carverys at a more local restaurant but we came here as we were out for the day.We booked online and arrived 5 minutes early. We waited at the entrance to be seated and we're told by a manager we'd be seated soon. After a few minutes watching the staff standing behind the bar someone came to seat us.We explained that my partner has a gluten allergy and that we were vegetarian. The waitress didn't ask for our order, just assumed we wanted the carvery only. She did take our drinks order though, and we asked for gluten free gravy. The food wasn't as good as I'd hoped, the Yorkshire puddings were flat and burnt, there was gristle in the stuffing and the carrots were dry and discoloured. The vegetarian gravy was very watery too. After 15 minutes we were still waiting for our drinks and the gluten free gravy. The drinks arrived and we were reassured the gravy was being made. My partner had to stop eating and wait for her gravy for another 15 minutes. When it arrived it was clearly not vegetarian gravy but we didn't want to wait a further 30 minutes for a replacement.Nobody came to table check and we saw nobody we could ask for the bill, so we went to the bar to pay. The drinks were extortionate, £3.40 I think for a J20 and you can't get one glass of cordial, you have to buy unlimited.Overall, not an enjoyable meal.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free gravy took 30 minutes to arrive.

Whilst the food was great as always had to wait a long time at carvery as the chef was not around. Waiting to order desserts and was ignored by the waiter had to order at the bar and our plates were not cleared until the desserts arrived.

Perfectly excellent all round. Clean toilets, excellent staff and a great format for affordable dining. In this modern dystopian world we live, this place and other Toby inns are a much needed time portal to the good old days.was looked after like royalty by a nice lady called Sarah. May Toby inns stay long into the ever worsening future.Parking: Ample

This was my second visit and again it did not disappoint. The food was delicious, piping hot and all the staff helpful and friendly. We brought along my parents and daughter, this was their first visit and they all enjoyed the experience and said they will return. The restaurant is comfortable and not over crowded. We will be back!! Thank you for an enjoyable dining experience.

The food is always good. We have had the same waitress the last couple of times that we have been and she is excellent. Others that we have had have been very good as well. On busy days it is wise to book as it gets very full at peak times.Parking: There is a large car park with plenty of available spaces any time.

We went for breakfast with Santa, it was very busy and I felt the staffing didn't reflect this. When there are organised events I think the staffing needs to be increased. We were taken to our table and everything was correct, I went to order the food and it was straight forward but there was only one member of staff serving which resulted in queues particularly when speciality drinks had to be prepared . The wait for the buffet could have been reduced if there had been two chefs on instead of one. The poor member of staff was constantly in and out trying to keep things filled up and there was a number of waits for fresh food to be brought out. This could have probably been avoided with an extra pair of hands and calculating that more breakfasts were going to be served because it's a special event.Despite this the food was cooked very well, it was hot and tasted very good. I thought it was very good value for money .Santa spent quite along time with us and we enjoyed the overall experienceParking: Lots of parking availableKid-friendliness: Very family friendly

Just me and my 2 year old came out for dinner. Table booked for 3.40pm had to wait 15 minutes. Why on earth have a table reservation, if I was late I wouldnt of been ablw to eat? Got to the table, was asked what we wanted to drink and left to it. I asked the waitress to order my lad the pasta child main. Then we went to que up which was as big as it could be. By the time I got my carvery it was 4.20pm. Went back to table and the pasta was not there. I asked the waitress where it was... 10 minutes later at 4.30pm it arrived. Food was average at best. Hugely disappointed, just wish the staff would of been more understanding to someone on there own with a young child. I have been here before and it's been an average carvery, but I feel the service keeps going down while prices go up. Its sadly become run of the mill.

Cyril on the carvery is the reason we keep coming back. He is so jolly and friendly, nothing is too much trouble. He fetched fresh beef for my husband. My daughter had the vegetarian pie. Cyril passed by our table and spoke to us and noticed Tia hadn't got any gravey so he went and fetched her a pot of vegetarian gravey. How thoughtful.Vegetarian options: Good selection.

Really good food as always. Don’t know why there’s vegan food options but no vegan desserts anymore. I’m not allergic to dairy but it upsets my stomach and I couldn’t have a dessert as there wasn’t any options for dairy free ice cream or custard like there used to be. Also the waiter who brought us our bill wasn’t very polite when I asked about the desserts.Dietary restrictions: No dairy free dessert options but plenty of vegan dishes on the menu.

Food was good . Service was ok .But the food deck was a right mess. New food was bought on to the deck .No wiping down ,the front of the deck customer side there was food all over it .When I got past a plate with my meat on .I didn't put it down to get my vegetables, the bottom of the plate would have had food all over it .Not good when the plate is hot .Went to get gravy etc.and again didn't put my plate down for the same reason. This could have been avoided if someone just wiped down occasionally.
