Not nice people any more!!!Following a family bereavement, I called to see if they would honour a gift voucher which had expired by a couple of weeks. The lady I spoke with showed no sympathy, and refused to honour it.

Really excellent food, brilliant service especially from Juan. Treated myself to a nice meal tonight, impromptu and was not disappointed to have chosen McKenzies. The staff was warm, the food was delicious and the service was spot on. Will be coming back again for sure. ❤️

The food was excellent and very tasty, completely let down with the service.1. When seated wine glasses plus extra random glasses weren't removed from our table. Also during our time their when ordering a new drink old glass's weren't being removed causing clutter and making it awkward to eat round.2. Food Wasn't coming out altogether3. Wasn't asked if we wanted any sauces etc we had to ask for those ourselves4. A very noisy table with children were seated right next to us. Really could of seated then somewhere more out the way as them and ourselves were the only people in dining (of course children will make noise and be children so don't mind the noise too an extent just not down our earholes while trying to eat a family meal)5. My husband asked for his leftovers to be boxed up to take home. It wasn't put in a box or a bag of any kind it was dumped onto some tin foil and wrapped up, brought to the table and patted down. This made taking it home very awkward.I really hope this is just a one off as all the other reviews on here look good! Maybe Staff need more training and monitoring. The food was delicious but sadly won't be coming back any time soon.

Fabulous building / setting, I have eaten here many times over the past 40+ years under different management. The food and service was great, I hope the new management continue to preserve and protect this special building.

I arrived with 10 friends. Pints of lager £6!!!! Bottles of Birra Moreti £8!!! There were 4 curries on the menu. They put out small side plates with a lettuce leaf, some diced cucumber, and raw diced carrot on it. The rice was very stodgy and the Chana Masala and Paneert Mecani were not great. Apparently, the lamb was very nice as was the naan bread. It was a ripoff to be fair as we paid £30 per head for the mains with rice with a small naan with a tony serving plate and a pint. I just do not understand why the veggie option is as expensive if not more expensive than meat. There are a lot of great Indian/bangladeshi restaurants in Lichfield so please do not have your intelligence insulted by coming here.

Thank you all for a wonderful afternoon, we all agreed that the curry was the best we have ever tasted, amazing food in a fantastic venue serve by friendly and efficient staff. Looking forward to the next time. Thank you all so much ?

We came here for Sunday lunch. We were not sure what it would be like as there were no recent reviews on Trip advisor. We were very impressed. The ambience is wonderful and the service and food are excellent. This is one of the best Sunday Lunches in the city centre. There was a choice of Turkey or Beef, we had one of each. It is a little expensive but the portions are very generous and the quality is very high. Would definitely visit again.

We had our wedding breakfast here. They catered well to a wide variety of needs. Think that Indian food is better than the European menu.Kid-friendliness: They were very welcoming of our 2 year olds

Great personalised service on our anniversary. The food was lovely but wasn't very hot and the veg could have had a little longer. I will return though to try more from the menu.

An excellent and friendly restaurant. In a beautiful building with, always, a very appealing menu. Fair pricing and excellent local produce.

Service overall was good, mostly due to the friendly waiter who seemed to be doing most of the running around. Strange atmosphere on a Saturday night, possibly because it was very quiet. Only 6 tables the whole time we were there (including us). There was also a group sat in the bar, but I think they may have been the owners. Watching the patrons and their staff. Decor would feel a lot less tacky without all of the fake flowers and some minor maintenance. Food was very expensive for the quality. Scallop starter was really good, patè starter was nothing special, served with wilted salad and stale tiny slices of baguette. We both had steak as that is their speciality. Both were nice cuts of steak, but not cooked that great. My fillet £38 was meant to be medium rare, but was more medium/well done - though wasn't charred on the outside at all, more 'broiled'. We had to ask for our sides. The side salad was very strange. Thick slices of tomato, cucumber almost a whole red onion and some wilted leaves at the bottom. When asked if I would like dressing, I asked what they had, the choice was balsamic or olive oil...so I had both. Advertised triple cooked chips on menu, but we were told that they were using 'just chips' (ie frozen) as it wasn't 'potato season'. Wouldn't return, as it was definitely 'average' and many other much higher quality l, better value restaurants in Lichfield

Overall it was a disappointing experience, the food was very variable in quality. It was made up slightly by good service from the staff
