The Boat Inn, Walsall Rd, Muckley Corner, LichfieldHonestly what an incredible restaurant!! We came for the full tasting menu with the additional wine pairings and we’re completely blown away! They just didn’t stop bringing out food! Even the coffees came with a little snack, I had to roll myself out of the place 4 hours later. We got pre dinner snacks and a little chat with big Liam who is very buzzed about his bees outside (and the honey was genuinely the most incredible honey I’ve ever tasted) and then the actual courses started, and EVERYTHING was divine. I’m a fairly fussy eater but my partner is a foodie and we were both looking at each other after every course like wtf how can everything be this delicious?? Like the lick the plate after you’re done delicious!! My personal favourite was the scallops course which you have to add on, but do yourself a favour and treat yourself because it’s actually life changing. my partner enjoyed the smoked aubergine purée despite the fact he absolutely hates aubergine so take from that what you will!! The staff were also all wonderful human beings, personable and asking us what we thought of each course. Our main waiter (sorry I didn’t get anyone’s name) was an absolute delight and made us laugh so much, even told me about the humane way they catch and kill the Squabs so I wouldn’t feel bad about eating pigeon. (I still feel bad about eating pigeon but he was truly funny). And Nick. Wonderful wine wizard Nick. This sweet angel picked seven (is it 7? It felt like they kept coming I’ll be honest) of the most incredible wines we’ve ever had. Each one suited the dish so perfectly and were just incredible. My favourite was the one that smells like melted butter (which shouldn’t be good! But it was insane) and my partner is already scouring the internet for wines from Santorini as they were straight up otherworldly. All this to say, we had the best experience in the boat. The staff, the food, the ambiance, you should get yourself in there and treat yourself. We’ll be back sooner rather than later. And everytime the menu changes with the seasons we’ll be there!! There was a good selection of puddings. The only problem was deciding which one to choose. Tracey, her husband & Tilly were lovely & really helpful.It was very useful having a large car park.We had a lovely catch up with our family & everyone said how much they enjoyed it.Thank you all. The food is a gourmand's dream.Tom has the courage to create original dishes that reflect the influence of his background and the world stage.Scallop with Satay, Tandoori, Wild Garlic etcThe dishes are creative, stimulating and delicious. He avoids the bland samey French Modern photocopies of the London Michelin scene and courageously and boldly stakes his impressive originality. Maybe the best opening Canapes i've ever had.And the NO ORDINARY SCHOOLBOY Dessert is THE BEST EVER. Good grief what a sweet.We sat at the Kitchen table and oversaw the whole cooking experience. I was so impressed by how calm and efficient Tom's kitchen is. There's not a raised voice in sight. The staff know their jobs as Tom wisely supervises. Oh and he cooks and serves, don't worry about that.He is a pleasant warm engaging down to earth chap who really gave us personal interest.Tom is a REAL Chef and a lovely man. Not a foul mouthed tv presenter masquearading as an actual Chef.

City Arcade, LichfieldMe and my partner ate here a few weeks back and had a great meal! I've only knocked it down by 1 star as I was SO excited to visit this restaurant - I've eaten from Patty Freaks a few times at food festivals and the burgers have always been absolutely incredible. The burgers were absolutely still very tasty, but just not AS tasty as I remember them being, and my partner felt the same. The burger patties themselves didn't taste like they had much seasoning, even in terms of salt and pepper - But the chips were absolutely heavenly, I had the Cajun spice and would highly recommend.Overall, still a fantastic restaurant and delicious food, but just not quite as I remembered the burgers tasting from prior dining experiences x

New manager Josh was well received by the regulars.There is a good selection of drinks on tap and the staff are happy to recommend their favourites.The pub is dog friendly without it feeling like there are too many dogs.We will definitely go back again.

1 Bird St, LichfieldHad a day out in Lichfield & wanted a drink @ the end of our walk. We came across the Brewhouse & Kitchen & really glad that we did. I had a pint of their own stout which was very good although a little too cold, but that is often the case when it comes directly from the pump. I warmed it by the lovely, large gas fire though which also warmed me & my partner after our walk. The seats we got were so comfy, we didn't want to move. The atmosphere was fine for a Sunday afternoon & although we didn't eat, the food that others ordered looked fantastic. We'd definitely go back when next in Lichfield.

1-3 City Arcade, LichfieldI recently visited Toluca Lichfield with a group of friends and have to say, I was very impressed with this little place. I'm the only one from the group with dietary requirements due to having coeliac disease and being vegetarian. The menu had lots of gluten free options, many of which were vegetarian too. The staff were very helpful when ringing up prior to booking to explain their processes. The lady on the phone told my partner that they pride themselves on being inclusive to dietary needs, so we felt confident in going ahead and booking. Upon visiting, our server was very helpful with taking my order and explaining what was available for me. The portions were a good size and the food was lovely and flavoursome. My food came out with a little gluten free flag too so I feel the best care was taken when preparing my meal. Really enjoyed my food and felt safe as a coeliac here. Would visit again for sure and habe recommended to friends and my local coeliac group.

Communication was always seamless, Jack and Lucy were so friendly and professional. The restaurant itself is lovely and intimate. The food was absolutely delicious (I can’t stop thinking about the salmon we had!!! All the other dishes were spectacular as well!) and we would 100% recommend this place for anyone looking to host an intimate wedding dinner, special dinner or just to have dinner! It was perfect. Patty freaks
City Arcade, LichfieldMe and my partner ate here a few weeks back and had a great meal! I've only knocked it down by 1 star as I was SO excited to visit this restaurant - I've eaten from Patty Freaks a few times at food festivals and the burgers have always been absolutely incredible. The burgers were absolutely still very tasty, but just not AS tasty as I remember them being, and my partner felt the same. The burger patties themselves didn't taste like they had much seasoning, even in terms of salt and pepper - But the chips were absolutely heavenly, I had the Cajun spice and would highly recommend.Overall, still a fantastic restaurant and delicious food, but just not quite as I remembered the burgers tasting from prior dining experiences x

9 Bird St, Lichfieldhighly recommended Lal bagh. I tried some of different Indian cuisine in Lichfield. Among of them lal bagh is best for them food quality. For Biryani Lover i will recommend The Chicken Tikka Biryani. Taste and Flavour is just amazing.

Especially the ones that have decent management!The Duke of York, has a lovely outdoor area, plenty of space beautiful on the summer evenings when they are hosting entertainment!Joules have a lovely selection of beers and ales, my favourite being a joules Blonde!This pub in particular has super friendly and efficient staff, a warm pub atmosphere with a pleasant clientele, but I particularly appreciate their immense snack selection!Great place always on the agenda when in in town! Can’t credit this place and the running of it though.Keep on doing what your doing guys ??

New manager Josh was well received by the regulars.There is a good selection of drinks on tap and the staff are happy to recommend their favourites.The pub is dog friendly without it feeling like there are too many dogs.We will definitely go back again.

Swinfen Hall Hotel
The Dr, Swinfen, LichfieldWe held our wedding at Swinfen Hall in October. We stayed Friday night and the hall provided some great food for us all and then we held our wedding Saturday. It was just amazing from start to finish, the staff were all incredible, the food was delicious and nothing was too much trouble.
