Plenty of history in Lichfield's oldest remaining pub with the roots of the Staffordshire Regiment created here.Plenty of seating, real fire, and a playlist on the sound system.Certainly worth a look if you're visiting this city.I didn't eat and couldn't see any other diners. However, it was a Monday in October. Will return.

Terrible food, first we ordered a roasted chicken and after a long period of time it was brought with iced still inside. Then we ordered some sandwiches and the cheese was not melted, the chips terrible and small slices of tomatoes. We would have been better off for sure somewhere else!

Yet again a faultless Sunday roast dinner carvery. It was delicious one of my favorite pubs in lichfield.

Called in on a reccomendation from a local shop owner, was not dissapointed. Best value carvery we have ever had, and the treacle sponge and custard was amazing too!Staff are friendly, looking forward to visiting again.

Enjoyed the food ,,easy to get served ,,very reasonable
This recently renovated traditional pub, has a lovely, cosy feel.. log burner & original coal fires. We had a fresh home cooked Sunday carvery today with family, which was exceptionally good. Child friendly. Very safe and pleasant surroundings. Delightfully helpful staff. Great outside space too.. Cleanliness impeccable. We have also been here on a Sat evening with friends. Great atmosphere & live entertainment. Great location, right in the centre of Lichfield City. I would 100% recommend

We love this great pub. Normally pop in on a Friday and have a couple of cobs, of which are lovely and fresh. This tempted us to try their Sunday carvery. Wow! So glad we did. The 4 meats on offer were so lovely and tender, along with a nice selection of vegetables. Absolutely huge portions of meat, of which, unfortunately we couldn't finish our meal. But the doggy bag soon sorted that. I personally left some food, just so I could sample their Apple and caramel pie with custard. It was divine. Massive thanks go to Jo and Kev for their gorgeous food and also to the very attentive bar staff Emily, Mollie and Dylan.

Asked for a medium steak, they gave me a burnt well-done steak with no flavour, and it was so dry. When we said the lady said she would sort in so we stayed for 15m and then asked again and was told she had forgot about it and wasted our time

Nice ye olde world pub with a lot of visual references to the local history of the area. Decorated with original wooden Tudor beams from the something-century! I didn't eat so I can't give an opinion on food. Nice enclosed beer garden with an entrance/exit that leads to a public car park.
