Had a very nice lunch here- 2 courses for £9.99 which was excellent value & large portions. Good food & a nice choice of traditional 'pub grub' meals plus specials. An enjoyable atmosphere & decor.Just sorry they don't allow dogs inside - you can sit out with them but it was a bit chilly for that! So many people have dogs these days that an inside 'seating with dogs' area would be really helpful, & popular I suspect.

This place was wonderful. They were so nice and accommodating to us. We were coming from the canal and didn't know we needed reservations. They found us a spot. The food was amazing. A few days later, we stopped by on our way back. Next time we are in the area, we will stop by again.

I visited the Plum Pudding with my family for Sunday lunch and it was absolutely fantastic, there was loads of food to go round and the staff were very attentive, we were particularly impressed by the way they handled a very unpleasant situation that we witnessed where a customer was complaining about their meal and it was quite apparent that they were only complaining to get a free meal for themselves and their family but the staff stayed calm addressed the situation with dignity. Well done Plum Pudding keep up the good work.

First time for myself, husband and 2 children but we joined my parents as they have been previously on a weekday and rave about the place. On a Sunday they only serve Sunday dinners and the children’s menu which is fine. We ordered 3 beef dinners and 1 turkey dinner, the food came out and unfortunately it wasn’t great, the vegetables, carrots, cauliflower cheese, peas etc were all rock hard. You couldn’t even cut them with a knife. The Yorkshire puddings were floppy and the roast potato’s tasted like frozen ones. We left 90 percent of the food. The girl came to clear our plates away and it was the first time someone had asked if it was ok. I explained that we weren’t happen with it and she laughed. I explained I want joint and that we had left most of the food so could I speak to the manager. The manager came over and was confrontational from the start saying I hear you demanded a full refund, I explained that certainly wasn’t the case, I went on to explain what our issues were and again she seemed very upset with me for daring to complain, I asked her to go and look at the food we had left because I certainly wasn’t trying to get out of paying but that I would not be paying for food I hadn’t eaten. She came back and said the chef has said I can take 3 meals off for you or some free deserts. As we were still hungry we opted for the deserts, once ordered we were then told we could only have certain deserts so I said look I will just pay for the deserts we want and you can take the meals off. The deserts were ok, my children enjoyed the chocolate cake they ordered. Unfortunately my husband desert was never brought out, by this time we wanted to leave as we were getting arrived from the waitress and dirty looks from the manger. I could not have been more polite when complaining, and it’s incredibly upsetting when your getting dirty looks and attitude thrown, even when my children who are 6, 3 and almost 2 said thank you for the deserts they were ignored. We were not the only ones who weren’t happy, and most of the vegetable people had were being sent back. Customer service is paramount in a business and I would certainly have gone back in the week to try it but with the attitude of the staff we most defiantly won’t be back.

Not been along this stretch of canal for a while so pleased to see The Plum Pudding back in action. Good moorings although the road is a bit noisy. Stopped for a drink on the way out and then back for dinner later in the week on our way back. Lovely restaurant and tables nicely spaced. Plenty of choice on the menu and good sized portions. Great service from Lisa, Erin and Macy - thank you all. Definitely on the list for a return next time we are boating

I tried to have dinner here last weekend. Now I know why I was unable to get a table, the food was on the top shelf . Plenty of meat and vegetables for a great Sunday roast, well done to the plumb pudding team, all served with a great smile. I feel that this will be a regular place we shall visit for a long time to come. Thanks again.

Recently celebrated our Silver Wedding Anniversary with a meal for 21 people at The Plum Pudding. It was a wonderful afternoon. The team provided us with 3 course meal that was delicious. Each course was served promptly by very efficient staff. I am in awe that the chef managed to provide so many meals all at the same time. Liaison with Clive prior to the day was smooth and professional. Thank you all for making our special day so enjoyable. Sue x

Lovely pub in a lovely spot - we sat outside by the canalside. Staff were very pleasant & friendly. The young girl who served us was really attentive to our needs and was very helpful. The food was delicious and was served at our table outside. Cannot fault this lovely pub, I would highly recommend a visit

This pub is in our my top 3 of places to make a return visit sooner rather than later. We called in on our way home and could not fault it, the food was first rate, the beer was spot on, the staff went that extra mile and the surroundings and atmosphere were some of the best I have encountered. Well done.

The food was excellent, and I had the Sirloin Steak (well done) it was cooked to perfection - not a trace of blood but still so tender. The staff were very attentive without being over powering. I would definitely recommend The Plum Pudding.
