Ordered a takeaway and when I got home…Egg fried rice was all congealed and stickyChicken chow mein had hardly any chicken and had the most horrible smell like it was cooked in old oilBeef in black bean sauce the beef was tough and the sauce was blandSalt and pepper chips the chips weren’t even cooked properly and some chips were under done! How do you mess up chips!Awful won’t ever use again!

food is ok, bad atmosphere between the staff. we dined in to have the chinese new year celebration, the restaurant was too dark, dirty chopsticks, not good service! not a good place for celebration! I cannot find any reason to recommend and definitely not on CNY!

My last review was in 2018 and 6 years later it still has to be a 5!! I have had many nights dining in the restaurant with numerous friends and had various takeaways over the years since 2018 and still can not fault anything, from the welcome, the hospitality, the service you recieve to the amazing food they all serve! I could not recommend The Essence of the orient highly enough. Thank you to the proprietors and all of the staff that work there for making our nights, nights to remember! Keep up the good work and see you soon ?

A must visit Chinese Restaurant in Stafford. The food here is absolutely amazing. The Wonton soup is the best soup I have ever tasted. Staff here are very friendly and helpful. Will be back soon to sample more choices from the menu.

As always, the fresh, flavoursome food was matched by delightful service from Bennie and Cathy; fabulous chef Tony delivered a banquet of delight! For heaven's sake, if you fancy Chinese food, don't even think about anywhere else!
