Called in for a takeaway while on our canal boat. Lovely food and attentive service.

Very bad quality of food. Chicken Tikka is old and was left over and reheated. Same bad quality was in the curry sauce. I don’t recommend it. We called the manager and shared with him even the photos and video of the bad checker. He did nothing about it! Bad experience from us never again.

The staff at the Shimla are just amazing. They look after your every need. They were so lovely towards our two children, making them laugh and making the effort to talk with them. The food was just beautiful as always and we couldn't fault it at all. The atmosphere in the restaurant is very peaceful and relaxing. Music is played at a reasonable volume so you can still hear each other talking. We will absolutely continue to return to the Shimla for a special occasions. A lovely way to spend our 15 year anniversary ❤️ Thank you Shimla Palace

This is the most swanky delicious curry house in the Rugeley area. Decent menu good prices and the food is something else! A very popular busy restaurant and Mo Faz and the lads make everyone welcome and feel part of the place. It us an oldy world style building but that just adds to the charm. Keep up with the good work lads see you soon ?

Overall this was a pleasant dining experience. Would have given 5 stars but the waiter forgot to put my chapattis on the order.

We booked for half 6 on the 18th November, we have eaten here plenty of times and had take outs from here so my son was really looking forward to his birthday meal.We were seated, drinks and poppadoms arrived quickly and we ordered our mains.Just after 8pm we recieved cold rice, one incorrect curry and a vile sagwala - it left me feeling physically sick. We were then brought more rice and the correct curry which was basically water. By this point it was half 8 and we had 2 young children to get to bed so couldn't hang about for them to attempt to make it better for a third time. 2 other tables were sat nearby us for a similar amount of time and had no food - so our hopes weren't high.We attempted to speak to the manager - bad night in the kitchen or something it happens however the reaction we got from the manager who handed us the bill for the drinks and had no interest in what we had to say and told me 'I've got a business to run' means I have no interest in return, any benefit of the doubt was taken by that managers attitude and lack of explanation. Just avoid.

Booked for a family of 12. All arrived for the booking time. Escorted to our table given menu’s and asked for drinks and poppadoms. Very efficient staff at first but then all went down hill. Had to ask to order main meals and after waiting well over 90 minutes with a few apologies in between. The mains came but without the chips. Very disappointing service. Bill paid £271 with an apology for the wait.

Bad night in the kitchen. Drinks and poppadoms came out OK however we waited 1hr 15 for our mains to receive cold rice and naan along with a very sickening unedible curry and another curry being wrong. The curry ordered wrong was replaced withing 5-10 mins with the correct curry however was tasteless and watery.Been here plenty of times and been great .. tonight was not one of those nights.
