We decided to get some lunch here while out shopping. The food was delicious! We haven't been for a long time but the food is as beautiful as ever!

Service poor. Drink poor. Ordered gin+ lemonade came like tap water, no ice ,no fruit diabolical for the price , had to ask for ice and fruit it took 10 minutes. Pasta dish was a child size portion and the waitress sprinkled a teaspoon of parmesan on ( not left on tabe) ???? Chocolate Fudge cake came with NO cream or ice cream dry as a board. Shocking for the prices charged. Pre-Theatre treat or to put it politely NOT. Grou of 4 ladies, shall not recommend or return. Very disappointing. ☹️☹️☹️☹️

Disappointing experience !I didn’t mind that the food is below averageAnd dishes looks heated and not freshly madeAt the end looks like this is their standardBut the thing that bothered me the most is the service ! The staff are really rude and unprofessional ..** edit to the comment as i can’t reply- we actually didn’t eat all the food , and we have not eaten two of our dishes that we have paid for- we didn’t make big deal of it , because this how you being nice and respectful which is apparently something the workers their lack- we did point few things to the waiter and they were very rude- Finally, you can see from the replies to all the negative comment how professional those guys are .. instead of trying to improve on these things that have been repeated in the reviews !Anyhow good luck with your business

We dined here with friends on the Saturday before Christmas. Upon our arrival (on time) we were rather rudely told that we had to wait as they have been very busy – pre theatre crowd, I guess. There were only a couple of tables in. It was chilly in the restaurant and the waitress didn’t light the tealight on the table, or we might have huddled around it. I wish we had checked the menu prior to booking, as it was very lacking and missed many of the usual favourites that we enjoy – especially for myself being vegetarian. I was, however, really looking forward to an authentic Italian pizza, but were told that they didn’t have any dough left. It was made on-site and they had used it all up. This was the Saturday before Christmas… Anyway, I started with cheese topped garlic bread, which was cold, but I was hungry, so I ate it. My main was gnocchi and it was actually unpleasant in consistency and flavour of the sauce, plus we had to ask for parmesan as the server had no intention of offering it. I gave the gnocchi to my hubby, who was grateful as he had ordered ravioli and received around 5 squares in total. In summary; it was expensive, the menu was very poor in terms of choice and physically it actually had a loose plastic cover, which you had to hold flat so that you could read it. The service was mediocre considering how quiet it was, it was cold in temperature and atmosphere plus the portions were very small. I had cheese and crackers when I got home and enjoyed them more. There are a few really good Italian restaurants in the Stoke and Newcastle areas and this is not one of them. None of our party will return.

Absolutely wonderful! We popped in for some dinner last night and was pleasantly surprised. The restaurant has a really nice vibe to it, really cosy and warm! The staff were fantastic, really attentive and even the restaurant owner (we think he’s the owner) got involved in serving our food and clearing our plates, which we thought was lovely. The food for us was spot on and we can’t wait to return again soon, thanks so much for having us. Emma & Mike x

Absolutely freezing eating our meal in the restaurant but the young lady serving us was lovely. It’s a shame it was so cold we all put our coats on and some other customers were wearing hats in a restaurant…. It really ruined the party experience we asked for the heating to be turned up numerous times but they didn’t do anything. It was an absolute disaster you cannot have a nice meal whilst feeling really cold.

Freezing cold restaurant. I cook a nicer lasagne! My friends carrots were cold! No warmth about this place. Couldn’t even huddle around a candle as they remained unlit! Food expensive and not tastes. Very bland. Would not go again! Seriously this is a great location, get the food sorted! Gordon Ramsey would have a field day!! Garlic e cheese bead, weird consistency! Sorry, but not good!

Sorry can't rate food we only had a latte. But being Italian it was lovely, it was a very windy & cold day so it was welcome, just two members of staff when we called in.both very pleasant & helpful, I walk with a rollator. & The young man showed us the best table to sit at. We looked at the menu but it was but early for us to eat, but my friend & I are both vegetarian & there was several different options for us if we had wanted to eat. So we decided we are going back to try the menu, maybe several visits to work our way through it.lol.everywhere was very clean & welcoming.

More for special occasions I would say lovely food and decor inside. Staff are attentive and fast to take orders. Room for improvement but overall one of the best places to eat in Hanley !

No reason not to give 5 stars. We found good food and friendly staff in area that is struggling in the current climate.Recommend if you're visiting the brilliant pottery museum ?

We went for lunch on an extremely dismal/rainy day so not many people in- however - well worth the effort!! The food, service and beautiful surroundings are second to none - homemade pasta to die for - you should try it - you'll love it!

Another fantastic meal here last night prior to attending the Regent which is conveniently directly opposite. We both had the pre theatre menu - My wife had the mushroom starter followed by steak and i took aubergine for starter and chicken with fettuccine- all delicious and house red wine good too.The service was excellent - couldn't fault them - we will return when next at ghe theatre - or at Victoria Hall which is a dirty walk away. Thanks to all staff !!!

We arrived for a pre theatre meal on arrival the restaurant was very cold so not very inviting we order out three meals and waited and waited others that had arrived and order after us were being served as my daughter had ordered a mushroom stuffed chicken breast with grilled veg we guessed it was because that was being cooked fresh how wrong can you be the chicken breast was dry and overcooked as if it had been prepared earlier and reheated the veg was a very small portion of garden peas and about 6 small slices of boiled carrot and about 5 small cubes of greasy cold potatoes we did tell the waitress about the potatoes and she did offer to get another meal as we’re going the theatre and she did not want to wait for a meal as she would end up eating after we had finish she declined ( we had gone 2 weeks before and the she had the steak the potatoes then were also greasy and cold but she was prepared to give them the benefit the doubt that was a one off ) And how can you describe golden peas and carrots as grilled veg I had the seafood pasta dish the scallop was raw the squid was like eating rubber bands the sauce on the pasta was tasteless could not taste any herbs or garlic and no Parmesan was offered the only plus was the prawns were cooked I ordered a side portion of garlic bread well when it came we could not believe our eyes TWO SLICES OF SHOP BOUGHT TIN LOAF that had just about been toast with spread on and a few herbs and big chunks af garlic thrown on the top and the Bread even though had been lightly toasted was hard as if it had been sitting about uncovered for a while The third lady in our party had chess pancake and chips and this was fine One of us could see into the open kitchen and the chef kept removing his cap scratching his head replaced cap and the carried an cooking ( I think they need a new chef we have been on several occasions before this and it’s been really nice food is this a new chef???) When the owner came to clear the plates he asked if we has enjoyed the meal we said it was not good and said about the chicken and that my meal that still had most of the bland pasta in the bowl was not very good as well he just took the plates away and said nothing We did have a pudding as the Tiramisu is really nice But we are all in agreement that it will be Roberto’s from now on
