Visited late one Sunday. It was a mixed bag. The drinks are fantastic! Lots of choice too. And the cakes are wonderful, again with a decent selection. The visit was somewhat ruined by the sausage rolls which were quite overcooked. I did bring this up with the server who apologised.

We were made very welcome today even though it was a busy time and we hadn't booked. We had a toddler and a 18 month old with us but staff were very accommodating and adjusted the tables for us. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. We will definitely be returning! Five star rating in every respect!

So four of us needed lunch and the cafe was full but we were able to sit outside despite by cold…blankets were provided. The crayfish salad was delicious as was that tuna melt and soup. Lots of choice and plenty of drinks including alcohol. Shame it isn’t bigger!

What a brilliant cafe, with extremely helpful staff and lovely food. Went there today and hope to be back next time we’re in Aldeburgh. Loads of vegan options, and beautiful cakes for vegans and omnivores alike!

We went for my friends birthday we had to book as it’s small inside that quaint the staff are lovely, very friendly and attentive. The food was hot and delicious we had poached egg and bacon on toast for tuna melt and salmon and eggs. It all came at the same time and was delicious. I wish we were staying for afternoon tea. The cakes look lovely but we were full maybe next time. See you again soon, and thank you to all the happy staff. Xx

Lovely lovely place! Best coffee I had on Aldeburgh High Street and felt like a really special place to sit and forget about the worries of the working week. The people next to us were having afternoon tea and it looked gorgeous. The lady who runs it is lovely and we will go back next time we are in Aldeburgh. Victoria sponge also very nice and I am a cake expert ( I eat cake most days ) Decor is perfect too.

Not an experience we will repeat. We booked afternoon tea for 5 people 48 hours in advance stating all our options. You would expect this would ensure the food would be ready in good time. We arrived early but accepted there would mean a wait. The waitress asked what we would like to drink but didn't tell us that our choices were not part of the package. At no time during the meal were we asked which coffee or tea we wanted as part of the afternoon tea. There were only 2 other customers seated at the time so we expected that there wouldn't be a lengthy delay in our food being served after the time booked. We were wrong. When the food eventually arrived 25 minutes after the booked time, it was only the savoury items. A few other customers arrived and were served their food (not pre-ordered) before us. Eventually after we had eaten the savoury items and waited for a considerable time for the sweet items we enquired when they would be served. This resulted in a senior staff member coming to our table and instead of giving any reason or apology for the delay she proceeded to argue with us in front of the other customers saying it was our fault!!The savoury food was tasty but the scones were heavy and pale and in some cases lacked fruit. The jam was cheap and devoid of fruit. The cakes arrived later and appeared undercooked. The service was inefficient and slow considering how few customer they had. During the lengthy waits we were regaled with inappropriate music and lots of chatter and giggling from the kitchen. When the savoury plates had been cleared away and the sweets eventually arrived we had to ask for plates to eat from.At the point of paying they attempted to charge more than £26 extra for our drinks but we hadn't even been offered or served the coffees and teas included in the package. Eventually they offered to reduce the over charge by £16 not the full over charge. Not the enjoyable experience we expected or deserved.

Dreadful!!! Do not be swayed by the 5 star reviews, you will be disappointed. This place is as good as it's name! The service was unbelievably slow considering there were more staff than customers. The food, when it did eventually arrive, came in dribs and drabs, was disappointing and incredibly overpriced. Eventually tea and coffee beverages were offered and served (part of a pre-booked afternoon tea) . Walk-in customers were frequently seated, served and prioritised over those who had pre-booked. The toilet facility was disgustingly dirty and the journey to get to it included stepping over a vacuum cleaner abandoned in the doorway. When we eventually gave up waiting for the remaining part of our meal to arrive, I decided to enquire as to how long this would be as we had been waiting a very long time, I was then rudely confronted by the person in charge in the middle of the restaurant who proceeded to discount my concerns and argue with me in front of the other diners, not great customer care at all. To finish the whole experience off, the beverages that had been advertised as part of the afternoon tea were added on to the bill, £25.34 per person. I cannot express how disappointing this experience was, please don't make the same mistake as we did. I would have given 0 if this was possible.

Myself and my mother booked a table for 2 for lunch on Saturday, the cafe was busy but welcoming with great service and amazing food...my crayfish, rocket and lemon mayonnaise on granary was just yummy, and packed with filling, my mother's brie and cranberry toasty was one of the best she'd ever had...!! To accompany our food I had an an iced latte with a caramel shot, mum had a traditional lemonade, both of which were delicious. As much of their food as possible is locally sourced which I love, especially as Aldeburgh is a seaside town and a lot of the menu has seafood dishes. I wasn't aware that dogs were welcome until later, but now I know I will bring mine as we love to walk them on our local beaches and it's aways nice to be able to go for a bit to eat somewhere with them afterwards. Having had such a lovely lunch, we will not only be back, but will be recommending to family and friends, and hope to go for dinner sometime as the evening menu looks equally as fabulous as the breakfast/brunch and lunchtime menu...would highly recommend...!!Vegetarian options: There is a good selection of vegetarian optionsDietary restrictions: Gluten free options for those with dietary requirements of that typeParking: There is no car park for the cafe itself, and being a Saturday lunchtime in a popular seaside town we probably should have thought in advance over where to park, however that was our own fault and not that of the cafe. However, we did find a car park around a 5 to 10 minute walk from the cafe, with some wonderful little shops along the way that we definitely would have stopped at for a browse had we had the time before our booking...!! Just make sure you check on car parking in the area if you are attending at a busy time of the day/week/weekend and you'll be fine.Wheelchair accessibility: Neither myself nor my mother use a wheelchair, however my husband has mobility issues and occasionally has to use one. I think that given the fairly small area of the inside of the cafe with table placed fairly closely together wheelchair access may be difficult, though there is some seating outside the front of the cafe so if you were to book in advance and the weather was pleasant I don't think there would be an issue. There is also a seating area in a small courtyard overlooking the sea at the back of the property, I don't know if this is only accessible through the main part of the cafe itself or whether there is an easier entrance for a wheelchair, but again I guess booking in advance and weather dependent that could be an option. The staff are lovely, so I'm sure a quick phone call to check if they can offer wheelchair friendly facilities would be received kindly.

Thank you for a lovely afternoon tea. The food was delicious and the staff were friendly and helpful. We pre-booked for a special birthday and we all enjoyed it. Can definitely recommend!

Had a lovely pesto panini. Wasn't overly expensive and service was fast.
