Regatta Restaurant
171 High St, AldeburghI love this restaurant! The menu is varied and interesting but the best stuff is on the specials board, for fish options that change frequently. Over several visits I've had bass, bream, skate - all beautifully cooked with well-judged sides like shrimp butter, samphire and other greens. Vegetarian options are also good. And make sure to have the home-made chocolates if you're having a coffee, they are looooovely.

Thai Street Cafe Aldeburgh
Davids Place, 106-108 High St, AldeburghLively Thai restaurant/take out. Restaurant has a bar which is used by many of the take out customers to grab a drink, whilst waiting for their orders.Excellent food and portions. It was fairly noisy, so if you are after a quiet romantic meal, is best avoided. However if you don't mind it's general hustle and bustle, it makes for a good atmosphere.Best to ring up and book if you want a table.

Cross Keys Aldeburgh
Crabbe St, AldeburghGreat location, nice basic food, but well presented and delicious, I loved the onion soup. Lovely staff, great service. It's popular, so you may not get a seat inside. It serves food later than some of the other pubs on a Sunday, currently up to 3pm. Didn't use the overnight option only the

White Hart Inn Aldeburgh
222 High St, AldeburghNovember and plenty of locals in at 11.30 opening - seven around one table and others down the other end. Three or four dogs in over two hours. Not a huge place being one room and good atmosphere. Excellent Adnams beer and cider (loved the winter special) and red wine ?. The bar lady (pink hair) had it all under control. Great experience. The Railway Inn
Leiston Rd, AldeburghGreat local pub easy access to Aldeburgh High Street and the beach. Don't be deceived by the outside. The "pub" menu is so worthwhile. The landlord is an amazing chef and food is tasty, generous portions, and best price in town. Good beer, Guiness is the best around. We tried the cocktails on offer with pretty low expectations, but they were proper cocktails not the syrupy weak drinks bars often serve. 2 beautiful gentle pub dogs and lively landlord.

It’s a must visit whenever we have family and friends to stay and is always a big hit with everyone.Beware that due to the popularity there is always a sizeable queue at opening time, but it’s definitely worth the wait! There is no inside dining but they also own The Golden Galleon down the street which has a restaurant upstairs.
