As far as reviews go, I generally don't bother writing them as I tend to either tell restaurants, pubs & pretty much anyone my opinion of the venue or person of vote by my feet & not bother returning, but on the odd occasion I feel I need to express my thoughts of certain places online & today is the turn of The Castle Inn/The Three Cooks! This bar & restaurant with a few rooms upstairs (which I've not had the pleasure in staying in... Yet) has to be the best place I've ever been to in Suffolk! They have an amazing team there with Amazing food & the waitresses/barmaids are absolutely amazing too! Kind, friendly smiles that instantly lifts your mood (unless you're a scrouge and set out to cause a scene!) then this is the place to come for a pleasurably dinning/drinking experience!Highy highly recommended to anyone & everyone! A definite must visit while in Bungay! If 10 stars was an option I'd easily give 20!Parking: Small amount of parking available opposite the beer garden unsure if its just for guests staying tho, some street parking available out the front of the building.Wheelchair accessibility: Wheel chair access possible for either front or rear of the property.

Well.... encouraged by the 5* reviews we were looking forwards to an authentic Thai experience ! What a let down. From sitting down to a dirty tablecloth ( tip - don't lift the dirty tablecloth it reveals food debris on sticky wooden table) to a very poor meal. The Thai green curry was neither green or authentic (potatoes and rice ???) and the Chef's special was reheated. The serving and bar staff were obviously not to blame, the tablecloth was changed when I complained and my curry was deducted from the bill but.... what a let down PS I don't expect this poor review will be taken noticed of so we will vote with out feetParking: Parking after 6

A wonderful restaurant with exquisite food. Well worth a visit. Ill definitely be back. Outdoor seating covered by a beautiful tree set in the centre of Bungay.

What an amazing little gem this is! Lovely beer garden, live music tonight was just what I needed to cheer me up, the staff are lovely and met some of the regulars. I will definitely be going here again for the music, it's just what Bungay needs a nice place to socialise

Visited The Castle Inn for lunch. Asked if we could come in with our small dog and received a very warm welcome and was allowed to sit in the bar area. Was surprised to see several Thai and Cambodian dishes on the menu. We ordered Som Thai with chicken wings and a Cambodian breakfast. Both dishes were delicious with an authentic amount of spice. We also noticed the toilets and the premises were spotlessly clean. We are looking forward to returning and enjoying some more delicious dishes.

Wonderful hospitality from the landlord and all the staff who were delightful and very welcoming. A very cosy pub on entering with the wood burner blazing away and my room upstairs for the night was also lovely with a comfortable bed. Breakfast was a good as it gets in hotels. I highly recommend this place to anyone wanting to dine out or book a room. A+++++

The Best Cambodian style cuisine we've ever had. Service was excellent, the green curry and spicy beef were delicious. I really enjoyed the blueberry and white chocolate cake and the fruit salad was the freshest I've ever tasted. Many of the meals had a vegetarian alternative which was nice rather than having a separate menu. Staff remembered about a food intolerance the next day without being promoted which was extremely considerate.

So many friends have raved about this restaurant so we decided to try it. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere. For a Thai restaurant, I found the menu a little strange. We ordered chicken satay, pork spring rolls, calamari? Portion size was fairly small and i wasn't keen on the spring rolls. Mains We had pork noodles, monk fish, burger and 2 kids meals. Monk fish with sautéed potatoes. The let down was the spuds were just new potatoes and hadn't seen a pan. Pork noodles were my order and the noodles tasted like ones I have at home in the cupboard. I'd expect decent noodles. Burger looked good and son love it. 2 kids meals went down a treat. The bill was in my opinion high for what we received however I've not been out in a while and there is a crisis out there. I personally wouldn't go back however other family members said they would. So I wouldn't recommend it buti wouldn't put you off either, I guess it's down to personal taste.
