It boldly claims to be an old traditional pub, but completely refurbished and lacks any character. Bland boring atmosphere with the most pretentious customers I've ever seen. Beer selection is lacking as well. If you like wine and boring boring mediocrity, this place is for youAlso..The food while looks great, but is too pricey.

Had a late lunch at The One Bull with family Sunday afternoon. Their menu is relatively small, but that's fine, as the options on offer are prepared well, (vegetables not under or over cooked) and flavoursome. This compares with many establishments offering pages and pages of food mediocre at best. To complement the food, the service is prompt, friendly and efficient. The way it should be. Lastly, they have a selection of ales brewed by themselves. What's not to like? Recommended ?

Lovely pub staff friendly, 4 stars as we didn't eat, but if in that area again would eat there, had reservations at another place, so just went for a pre drink

I have to say the best roast I have eaten out in a long time ( my wife cooks it too well). Beautifully pink beef, lovely veg etc, great staff! Our new favourite roastie din!

Melt in the mouth roast beef! Lovely Sunday roast dinner with red wine! Usually come here and do the set menu which never disappoints but decided to try the Sunday menu and so glad we did!

Nice atmosphere. Attentive, friendly and helpful servers. Good standard food offering. Kids menu did not have enough plain option/choice. Missing a trick with not making puddings visible as we could’ve been tempted if we’d seen them on a menu.

We always choose The One Bull as our go-to aperitif place before eating out in Bury, as it is such a relaxed venue, staff are so nice, excellent beers and a gorgeous English sparkling on the drinks list! Having not had a meal there for a while, we booked a table - good atmosphere, friendly restaurant staff. We ordered a Portuguese white (no 12 on the list!) for £26 - I would highly recommend it. We both ordered salmon with potatoes and gem/broad bean fricassee, and I'm afraid both of us were quite underwhelmed; served in a bowl, with only 3 potatoes, a thin fillet of salmon (not of the finest quality) and scarcely a broad bean to be found. Our side of Hispi cabbage, however, was gorgeous - 2 bold wedges, beautifully cooked and presented. It was certainly far from filling - not at all the heartier dishes we remembered from previous dinners there - a pity. Overall, The One Bull is by far the best place in Bury for a drink, a good place to meet friends, but we'll regard the food with a bit of caution.

This Restaurant is very near the town centre with plenty of paid parking ?️ if you go on a Sunday the parking is confusing because after 4pm parking is free but when trying to pay the meters don’t say this it say parking restrictions after 4pm . The food we ordered both had roast beef was excellent plenty of beef cooked to perfection with fresh vegetables and homemade Yorkshire pudding my wife ordered a dessert coconut panacea which she thought was very good ?. The one down side was the lack of understanding with the service all staff very pleasant but we received our drinks after we received the food and the drinks was then placed in the middle of the veg dishes we were trying to use . I would be very happy ? to recommend this restaurant and will return but hope they serve the drinks before the food .

The establishment was clean, airy and very comfortable. The staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming. The prices were fair in today's marketplace and the whole experience was one that I would wish to repeat, maybe buying more food next time.
Great food and an excellent wine list with every wine available by the glass. They also offer wine flights which was fun. Lovely staff and a fabulous choice for gluten free dining. Highly recommend.

We had an exquisite meal with excellent friendly (and knowledgable input when it came to wine selection) service and additionally superb tasting beer from the restaurants own brewery. A wonderful gourmet evening and highly recommended.

What a great experience. Away on business and turned up on my own on a Thursday night looking for traditional pub grub, a pint and nice atmosphere rather than the solitude of a hotel dinner! Busy night, but Staff couldn’t be anymore friendly and accommodating. Food was fantastic and far from the ordinary pub grub menu I was expecting Drinks, a mixture of local brewery offerings as well as the well known names. Special menu Hake was amazing. That good that I ate it and forgot to take a photo. British hospitality at its best. Thank you

We visited The One Bull yesterday for a Sunday Roast. It’s a lovely style restaurant / pub with charming interior. We all opted for the roast beef with sides of the Parmesan Truffle Fries (because they sounded delicious.) The wait wasn’t too long for food given it was fairly busy. The beef was beautifully pink and thinly sliced. The potatoes were a little bit dry sadly - and a few of them across each of our plates had been badly bruised. The fries were as suspected lovely. We opted for the sharing dessert and glad we did. The panna cotta seemed to have too much gelatine and didn’t the usual wobble. It also different taste of much tbh. The other desserts however were lovely.

Everything about this pub was spot on at my first visit. I booked the table at the last moment online. Super quick and easy. When we arrived (a table of four) we were quickly seated and our drinks were ordered. After that we never felt rushed through our appetisers, the English asparagus and salt & pepper squid, or through our dinner. We all ordered the roast sirloin of beef. The roast dinner was one of the best I have had, EVER! We will definitely be returning as I have already booked our table.
