The take away section was busy which is good to see, meaning fish will be nice which was not a disappointment. Nice cod and chips. Sausage was not bad either

Very pleasant staff. Big portions. Price is on the high side.I didn't enjoy my fish and chips. The batter was similar to that of sweet n sour chicken balls. A deep golden colour, soft and fluffy. Batter was fine on chicken bites and sausage, but not fish. Prefer my batter with a crunch. Chips could have done with longer. Rest of the family said the food was alright but not great.

Visiting family this weekend just passed we decided to get our tea here. Despite the long queue (as they were admittedly short staffed - so couldn't be helped!) our order was placed and it was delicious! We had sausage and chips all around, and they were yum - will definitely be visiting again!

A propa bit of grub.Glad we found this place, it's a propa old school fish and chip restaurant. Nothing pretentious about it just decent food.Staff were lovelyThe place is exactly what you want when you go down the seaside.

A family party of 6 enjoyed our recent visit and the portion sizes were generous even though listed as small and medium. Beautifully cooked and presented, quicker from ordering than anticipated and the staff were united to bring our meals to the table. Our waitress Saline(?) was excellent and very professional. Our only star reduction was because we considered the prices of the soft drinks to be rather high for the amount. However, this was only a short lived disappointment.

Excellent Cod & Chips fresh out of the beef dripping, good service and friendly staff. Recommended to all.

TL;DR: Excellent.Called in a couple of hours prior to check if they did gluten-free batter (hint: they do, or I wouldn't have much to say), and they're as lovely on the phone as they are in the restaurant. Ordered the medium GF cod (pictured), everyone else had regular batter on rock eel and plaice and it was all amazing, I almost couldn't tell the difference and my gut approves too. GF vinegar was a massive plus. Finally being able to dine out with my family without settling for a salad was a real treat. Also FODMAP-friendly for anyone wondering.I'll be back next time I'm in England for sure!

I visited here today for some chips while at the beach with the family and I have a complaint, the chips were that good I ate to many and spoiled my appetite for BBQ. Next time have bad chips.

I'm well and truly stuffed!! Gluten free menu provided without even asking and options were good. Obviously my whole reason for going was fish and chips and I wasn't disappointed!! Was even able go get bread and butter, owner was concerned bread wasn't up to standard, but assured him gluten free bread always looked sorry for itself and anemic lol. Staff were lovely and friendly and environment was comfortable - left with my food baby and a smile!

Visited on a busy bank holiday weekend afternoon. Very friendly and efficient service as always. Haddock and place both perfectly cooked. Nobody could ever say they leave here hungry. Can't wait til our next visit.

Utterly horrible. Soggy batter around fish that was so old it was like mush. Sausage in batter - batter fell off into a dust. Disgusting. Even the dog wouldn’t go near this crap. Paper soaked in smelly oil. Awful.

Spent a lovely bank holiday afternoon at this restaurant massive queues outside for takeaway l so booked a table 2 hours later in the restaurant We were not disappointed the table was a little late being reassured due to the previous customers but we were attentively served and kept up-to-date by the waiting staff and very professional front of house lady The fish and chips were beautiful and huge portions - the whole party had different selections from the menu all were beautifully presented and extremely tasty - my wife had the prawn salad as you can see from the photograph it’s a wow factor picture- definitely worth a visit and must be one of the best seaside fish restaurants in the east of England
