“The Queens Head is a firm favourite if our family. It is dog friendly and both the food and the beer are first class. If we have anybody visiting we always come here. The Landlord and Landlady are warm and welcoming as are the locals. The Sunday roast is home cooked and it is best to call and reserve a table if possible.”

“The eightbells is a really lovely place to eat and have a few drinks in. Very relaxing environment, really accommodating staff and we always enjoy the food. The Turkish restaurant is lovely and the pizza there are amazing!! Never a bad experience.

“Cute pub serving good quality hearty fare. The owners and patrons are welcoming and friendly which is more than can be said for other pubs in the area. In the winter they also have a lovely wood burner blazing and in the summer a cute outside patio garden.
Just realised this review was for the cock inn, polstead ?‍♂️, BUT the cock inn, Halstead is also great too. They serve well lovely real ales at very reasonable prices, the staff are all incredibly friendly and helpful and they also have a great garden. Will definitely visit here again.”
