The manager was really good and was able to accommodate 7 people in 4 rooms at very short notice and even a later check in as we were at a wedding. Our rooms were very clean and breakfast was very high quality along with the service. We wished we had booked here first instead of being badly let down by golf club and spa nearby. They were also 50% cheaper and it was quiet at night time!.

We arrived around 16:30 and were greeted very promptly by the staff. We stayed in the Melford suite which was a lovely room on 2 levels. The room was very very well equipped with amenities and the bed was very comfortable. The TV was ideally placed for watching the very generously sized TV. The shower room is small with a very short ceiling meaning that both myself (5'9") and partner (6') did not fit under the shower head, but this is something which happens with old buildings like this. The breakfast was lovely with staff being very friendly and attentive. Good selection of options for both hot and cold food. The car park is located at the back of the property and has several spaces available for guests to use. If visiting Long Melford, I would recommend staying here.

I visited The Bull this month and it was wonderful. Fantastic venue and fantastic service! We enjoyed our drinks and food very much and will definitely come back as soon as possible. Congratulations Team The Bull!

Great staff, good service and some original food choices. We had a lovely garden salad for dinner with a choice of meat or fish. The rooms were nice and clean. It's an old building so it creaks a bit but that adds character.

1st visit to this pub for an afternoon drinks on a hot day. Great pub full of history. I loves the display of the roman pottery finds.

we have stayed here a couple of years ago, and stayed three days this time from 26th June until 30th June the staff are very friendly and helpful, we had great food in the bar and excellent breakfast, we had the Offord suite it was large clean and very comfortable, see photo's special thanks to Soo, Diane, on reception, during the day and Gary on reception at night, they all are an asset to the Hotel, and Doreen serving in the breakfast room was very friendly and helpful too, i would highly recommend this hotel thank you all hope to see you again soon

Fantastic 15th Century Inn, superb friendly and extremely helpful staff including its very own ghost what a place to stay for Halloween oh and the food is above and beyond matched by the service. If antiques is your thing Long Melford and the surrounding area is a mecca.

I travel to the area almost weekly and stayed at The Bull on my first visit. Since then I have not chosen to stay anywhere else whilst I am in the area. Upon arrival, there is always a welcoming smile from either Crystal or William and the rooms are always clean and tidy as you would expect. The building and rooms have character and there are some excellent historical references to observe in the reception area (of a building that was originally built around 1450). A full menu offers an excellent choice, even in times where most hospitality businesses experience some difficulties with supply, there is always a good variety of delicious, wholesome foods to select. The bar and restaurant team always ensure you are well looked after too. Whether Ruth is preparing you favorite tipple, Dave is making fine adjustments to your menu selection or Dorine bringing you a hearty breakfast to start off your day, the service is second to none. I always enjoy a nice chat with Diane or Soo before I check out and look forward to my next visit to what has almost become my home away from home.

Stayed here for 3 nights. Helpful friendly staff, who willingly helped with our luggage. Breakfast good. Evening meals were not good as too many things on the menu were unavailable. Sharing plate of nachos etc not available nor was the curry. One of us had lasagne as a 3 rd choice . Far too salty and left it after 3 forkfuls. Salad with sea bass not available. Had salad with rump steak instead, the salad was ruined with far too much dressing. I left most of it. That night we both had an upset stomach, but that could have been anything we had eaten during the previous day. We had no breakfast on the final morning.. Bed was comfortable but being at the front and side of the hotel the traffic from early morning was very noisy with lorry’s going over pot holes. The hotel room floorboards creaked so much . Not really the fault of the management but ruined a decent nights sleep. There were no toiletries except for a wall soap dispenser. So we had to buy some hand soap. Much as the staff were lovely and helpful sadly I would not stay here again. We used the fire escape stairway to leave as it was safer than the main staircase to take down luggage. Very concerning was the fact that the staff member had to give the fire door a hard kick to open it. In the case of a fire that may not be possible.

A return visit after nine years. The staff were very friendly, nothing was too much trouble. Thanks to Crystal for sorting my new malfuntioning tablet and Ruth, Evie, Crystal and the team for serving excellent evening meals and breakfasts. Spacious comfortable room with all of the facilities you would expect. A lovely old timber framed building in an unspoilt village with handy free parking. Short walk to Melford Hall / Kentwell Hall and short drive to Lavenham Village close by. We will not leave it so long before our next visit.

Booked through booking.com.No breakfast included for nearly £100 for the night which is a little steep but i thought you get what you pay for. The two chaps that greeted me at reception were really nice and friendly but what let it down was when you book a room at a Green King establishment you expect a certain standard. To take a shower where there is black mould above your head is not a very pleasant experience nor isn’t fitting with todays Health and Safety standards. Also the staff arriving at 7am on the Sunday morning, slamming there car doors shut and talking did wake myself and a couple of other guests up as they walked into the staff entrance to the rear.I understand you cannot upgrade the windows so there is sound proofing but to be woken up by noise from staff is a very poor show. I mentioned this when checking out and the lady at reception said”Sorry about that” Does this make it ok? I don’t think it does, so when I visit Long Melford again I will stay at another local hotel of which there are a few.

Just a peaceful lunch for two, to get away from the stresses of the day. A nice seating area, they also have an outside area, clear menus with plenty of information about ingredients, allergens, and options. A good range of menu items, from snacks to 3-course meals at competitive prices. And a kids menu. An excellent number of wines, with descriptions of each, by the glass in 3 size options, or by the bottle. And a very nice Zinfandel ! The service is quick enough, apart from then they have the occasional big do in, but that could happen anywhere. And the staff are cheerful & helpful. Booking is easy, either in person, by phone or through the app. Even for someone of advancing age. Best compliment I can pay ? I go back.

Absolutely 5 stars for this old stage coach house.I won't comment the rooms as we didn't stay, but all the rest is a 5☆The food is delicious and nicely presented. We were all delighted by that. But above all is the actual building and its crooked beams as well as inside, and its furniture... a very charming experience.

Having spent our wedding night here 32 years ago this was a trip down memory lane! It didn’t disappoint. Lovely room (sadly not the honeymoon suite!!) but large and spotlessly clean. Accommodated our SpringerSpaniel for a small charge. Delicious food. Soo and Gary very welcoming. Would definitely recommend and won’t be waiting another 32 years before we visit again!

Lovely hotel in the most picturesque village. Stayed here as part of wedding party we were attending near by. Stayed 2 nights. Room was airy and had all we needed hair dryer, iron and fan (great touch as it was a warm weekend) clean room and decor was simple but nice. Bed was so comfy and 2 nice fluffy pillows can't complain slept great, very quiet too. Hotel breakfast was nice both days, staff friendly and quick. So much choice all cooked to order and brilliant vegetarian selection which i was very happy with Very reasonably priced rooms considering the area and including breakfast. Would definitely book again if we ever come this way again.
