Went for dinner and we were the only ones there so didn't do great for the atmosphere but the service was great. We did get the wrong tables food but this was soon realised and taken to the correct table, lucky as my wife was just about to cut in to her pork dish. I had the lamb and the portion was tiny, just 2 small strips of meat, it was very tasty but certainly wasn't a great size dinner. The pork portions were a lot better and I do wish I'd ordered this dish, but the duck we also ordered was very dry and the potatoes were hard. I feel for the prices they charge for their food the quality and portion should improve. We have been here many times over the years but feel this will now be the last.

Booked for Sunday carvery at 5 pm, on arrival was directed by reception to the function room where carvery was being served pretty quiet as it finishes around 5.30 ish, all pleasant staff and setting, 4 choices of meat , too many veg options to list, my partner is a bit picky but for her not to criticise in some small way this meal must have been good ! Definitely coming back a couple of times a month ?

It really depends on who is cooking, WE had an awful meal then a wonderful breakfast, different chefs. I did feel for the evening meal for what we got was slightly over priced

Came here a few years ago as a Christmas Groupon gift.there was 8 of us all together.I really enjoyed my food and the barn itself is beautiful! Some of the party I were with prefer bland food (non complex flavours) and this place is vibrant and flavourful.I wouldn't have known about this place if not for my Groupon voucher.Highly recommended.

Visited for Friday Steak Night. Excellent value for money, £30 for two, Steak and trimmings plus bottle of house wine. Quality and quantity far surpassed expectations . Lovely venue and attentive staff without being intrusive. Very impressed.

Menu limited at time of my stay but food very good and service speedy. Cooked breakfast good but would have liked fresh fruit rather than tinned.

We ate at Ivy Farm yesterday evening. Over the years the restaurant has changed, as it has changed management. Years ago it was a very formal fine dining restaurant . Which was lovely. Now it’s not so formal and the menu is more similar to a gastro pub. However it does not detract in any way from the quality of the food or the service. I had Scallops as a starter which were cooked perfectly and others were very appreciative of the breaded crab claws. The sticky beef was delicious. I can’t say it was haute cuisine but when we were getting 25% off the bill I can understand that not everything is going to be made from expensive ingredients. We really enjoyed our meal and thought it was excellent value for money. We will be going again soon

We booked this a la carte restaurant because of the excellent menu that was advertised on their website and we were really looking forward to spoiling ourselves with what was on the menu. We arrived and was presented with a Christmas menu that had only 5 dishes on it and was informed that the a la carte menu was not available! This was extremely annoying and frustrating as we had booked this restaurant weeks before we visited Oulton Broad. The staff explained that they had no control over this, however the management of the restaurant do!! They should have informed all guests visiting the restaurant that the advertised menu was NOT available and furthermore should have removed it from their website!! It is not acceptable to 'dupe' guests by advertising a menu that is not available!!! The food from the menu was decidedly average, food that you would expect from a Wetherspoons (No offence to Wetherspoons!) We left the restaurant feeling very disappointed and feeling we had been taken for fools. Other guests were of the same opinion that they were not happy with the menu on offer nor the food that was served to them!! For a restaurant that pride themselves on their a la carte menu, the head chef and management should be ashamed of themselves.

I had booked a Festive Afternoon Tea in person with reception staff as a surprise to celebrate my husband's birthday this Sunday. I discussed alternative sandwiches and where we would sit in The Crooked Barn. All of this was confirmed to me. At this stage they were aware that we were not residents as lived very close. Yesterday, 5 days before my husband's birthday this was cancelled by e-mail as 'we were not residents' !! I am so disappointed and am now left at such short notice to organise an alternative venue within the festive busy period.

From entering the venue there was a negative demeanour being radiated by the members of staff - everything seemed too much effort, not what I would expect from a premium venue. The service; Leah who took the order was very unwelcoming and did not make us feel at all welcome. Having received the starters a check back was completed by Leah, as expected from a restaurant. The mains were then served and a check back was not completed. Due to not having a check back we rose some issues to a young waitress at the end of the meal to then be told that she would pass this on to manager. The meal concluded and I asked to speak to a manager (Leah) to be told that the waitress passed on the issue, but this was clearly not followed up accordingly. We were told that she could not do anything whatsoever because she did a check back mid meal with no issues rose at that time - issues were not risen at that time as there wasn’t a check back which could be recalled from any of the nine guests on the table. Having addressed the problems we proceeded to pay full price for all items on the bill, when it was received upon the third time of asking (in excess of £200 on food and greater than £150 on the bar). Having continued to sit at the table for some time after paying, one member of party caught the team members ‘gossiping’ about us, which I’m sure you will agree is extremely rude and unprofessional. On a second occasion another party member went through to the bar to see Leah and her team gathered around talking about us - this was clearly the case as they quickly dispersed and some team members were heard saying ‘don’t worry il tell you later’, again clearly about us. I am truly disappointed by the quality of food which we received at your establishment but, even more infuriated that the team were not interested about the issues, taking an extremely unprofessional approach to the situation. The following day my phoned the hotel to tell that she was disappointed with the service and attitude of the restaurant manager and staff. We were informed and given the hotel managers e-mail to contact him before coming onto trip advisor which we did we gave them nearly 2 weeks to respond this never happened so I feel the attitude from top management down to restaurant management are all the same and don’t care about there customers and only care about profit.

Not sure if this is the correct page, but we Came here and had a carvery in the marquee out in the garden. Service was very good , quick and friendly. Very odd selections on the carvery, the carvery was good. Portion sizes were generous.

Excellent food and service, the seafood was superb. The wine (white rioja) could have been colder but a couple of blocks of ice sorted that. I thought it was excellent value (although I didn't pay) and was similarly priced to some pubs in the area. Staff very good and the venue was very pretty.
