Great service with really lovely staff, amazing food, and generous portions.Was let down by another restaurant down the road, so just walked in MarkG, and I'm so glad we came here in the end. Despite the fact I can't really eat shellfish, there was lots I could still have, and I will be coming here again to try them. I'll be recommending it to all my friends.My friend and I got the beer battered fish and chips, and I dont remember the last time I had such tasty fish! We kept saying how glad we came here instead. My friend and I are going round different restaurants in town that's new to at least one of us, and this has got to be THE BEST one in the year that we've been doing this.I had a great meal in a cozy, atmospheric place at a reasonable price.10/10 service, 10/10 food, 10/10 experience

Booked a table at Mark G for a celebratory meal with my man on the basis of reviews and it absolutely delivered on all my hopes and more. Ambience - simple, rustic but perfect for a romantic evening, service - welcoming,attentive, polite food - divine...every dish was so good, conversation had to stop just to savour the moment. I'm no foodie but my hot salmon fishcake was gorgeous, my man's ribeye steak perfect and he waxed lyrical about his chips for some time. Of particular note my sticky ginger pudding was so light, so delicious and married perfectly with the delectable rum and raisin ice-cream. All around, a very lovely and memorable evening. Thank you Mark G - we will definitely be back!

I can quite happily state that this must be the best restaurant in Lowestoft. And if you happen to be partial to seafood, your luck is in.Starters, mains and desserts are all delightful and the menu is small enough not to be too intimidating.Staff are polite and lovely, and when the restaurant fills up a bit, it has a very cosmopolitan atmosphere.There is outdoor seating in the courtyard for the more clement temperatures of the year and also a bistro style establishment has now been opened next door owned by the same people where pre-eating socialising can be conducted.I'm hoping they remain successful and give a kick to this part of town and,I must say, it's looking good so far.This is a first class eatery and prices reflect this so be prepared. I would eat here every day if finances allowed, but, alas, that is not my situation. However, I've eaten here twice in a week by stroke of luck. Hoorah for me.
