Had the pulled pork dog. Good size and overall great portion sizes. Friendly staff decently priced given the current climate will definitely be going again.

First time here so a review is needed, like everywhere else I go.This was for a friends 50th birthday meal out.I can start by saying the waitress was really nice and had to run back and forth loads. Because of the design of the building.I can't really comment much on the atmosphere as our party was in a back room and by ourselves. But it seemed nice, as you walked through to the toilets.Which brings me to the cleanliness of the toilets. It was clean and tidy. The style of the pub was quaint as an old style building. We had a party of 11 of which 2 turned up very late. Our starters were OK apart from my wifes Indian platter, which seemed very well done and she said they tasted mushy. Also she couldn't tell the difference between the onion bhajis and vegetable pakoras. My friend I had the deep fried brie I believe, which looked amazing. The rest was ok, I didn't have a starter myself but pinched a bit of other people's.The mains were a little disappointing, one had a steak which was meant to be medium rare but definitely medium well done.Another had a chilli burger where the burger was crispy on the edges and dry, with very little chilli inside. My wife wasn't impressed with her katsu curry, but I thought the sauce was nice and spicy. Two had ribs which were nice, but dry ribs not saucy ribsThe steak pudding looked good and I wondered if it was fresh homemade as quite impressed. The meat feast pizza looked nice and you could see the meat. But the pepperoni pizza I had was like a plain cheese pizza. I actually pulled the cheese off to see if there was any pepperoni in it, there was a few bits but you couldn't taste it. I was offered an alternative but once you have something a bit iffy you don't want anything else. I was still charged for it so I hope the kitchen staff enjoyed my pizza better than me at my cost.My friend had the same pizza and agreed but ate some of hers and asked for a doggy bag to take home, literally for her dog. I sent mine back and still got charged for it.The deserts were nice particularly the sticky toffee sponge pudding and the cheesecakeMy overall score is 2.7 and I wouldn't go out of my way to go again.

Great service. Friendly staff. Nice place generally but the old bar room is quite cramped and tables scratched with peeling paint. Menu needs to describe the Sunday Roasts better as to what is actually going to come on the plate. As it is they can just make it up as they feel like as they don't state what the customer should get. A description also allows the customer to ask for omissions or replacements (my wife can't eat leeks, they are a member of the onion family to which she has a reaction to, but we paid for them and they were left uneaten). Unfortunately food wasn't great. Not completely awful and just about edible. Maybe they just can't cook a Sunday Roast very well? Red Cabbage far too sweet. Leeks in a sauce that can only be described as slightly sour and not nice. Roast vegetables not crispy and slightly hard. Yorkshire puddings flat and pancake like. Roast beef slices paper thin. The desserts were mostly from packets and the one (out of six) that was homemade, jam Roly poly, had to be sent back as it was hard and inedible. Our advice, ditch the leeks and red cabbage and replace with carrots, broccoli, cauli, peas, etc. Learn how to roast vegetables and make proper Yorkshire puddings - we could teach you if you want? More home made desserts, not packet rubbish that the waitress prepare instead of the "chefs". Do that and you'll have a winner dinner. As it is, we don't really want to come back, for Sunday Roast at least.

Food was delicious but the wait was so long concerning the place had like 3 other tables. Waited nearly 20 mins to just order deserts. Wouldn’t recommend with young

I have never been to the restaurant, only have takeaway delivery, as a vegetarian I have good choice of food, but tend to stick with my favourite halloumi burger and chips although I did have a pizza from them recently which I would happily get again, love their fruit crumble and cheese cake desserts

Great food fantastic choice the homemade fish pie was fantastic the only thing I'd suggest is some bread to get every little bit of it mopped up.
