My only frustration is that we haven’t been sooner or more frequently.Relatively smaller menu but the food was delicious (can recommend the wings and pulled pork dirty fries). Service was quick and friendly, nothing felt like it was too much to ask.Good variety of beers to choose from.It was a little quiet the evening we went so atmosphere was just a bit lacking but we will be back soonKid-friendliness: It’s not a drinking pub so no problem bringing kids. No specific kids menu but plenty on the menu kids will eat

Get the chicken wings - they're fantastic and legendary! The landlord knows best. Also great beers! ?

One of our favourite local pubs/restaurants! We cannot express how good the food is, absolutely hands down the best chicken wings and burgers we have had. Atmosphere is lovely, friendly owners who really care about the quality of food and service. They also offer takeaway, and who could resist taking home a slice of the most delicious cheesecake!! ? 10/10

Great pub. Independent too. Have their own micro-brewery. Lovely owner. Som people have said it’s a hidden gem, and it is. Just a few minutes off the A14, and nicer than the places in Bury

Service was absolutely incredible, very kind and helpful. Excellent beers, I had an excellent wheat beer and overall great experience. They are dog friendly too!

Came across this on the three churches walk! Fantastic pub. Great beers, excellent service and the best wings I’ve had in a long while! Crispy with plenty of meat and great flavours! The barman was very kind to refill our water bottles and keep them in the fridge for us until we left! Much needed on a 28C day! Will 100% be coming back to visit!

Great food. Great beer.. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Being a local (two villages away so I guess that counts) I find that I am coming here as a treat. Always delivers! The beer, atmosphere and service is spot-on . You must book because they are so busy but I always am prepared to wait. It’s worth it!!! Big thank you to the owner. The beer is so good I don’t mind waiting.for the takeaway that I should have ordered online. (Must get my act together)

Love coming here! Have told all my friends about this place. Great food, great drinks and a real vibe! They also play country music! Perfect. A great stop off on the 3 churches walk, or as I prefer to call it…. The Three Pubs Walk. Call ahead and book is my advice as it’s a country pub and you don’t want to be disappointed. Can’t wait to visit again!

Fabulous pub and customer service, the staff are very friendly. Food gorgeous, best chicken wings we’ve had. Disappointed to see the recent one star reviews as this does not reflect the many great times we have visited.

Great pub and staff. Superb location and the friendliest place to go for either a drink on your own or with a group. Amazing value.

Home brewed beer that is super tasty (and one that is super strong). Great snacks to keep you going. Highly recommended if you are in the area

Bank holiday Sunday, nice day to do the 3 churches walk, halfway stop for a nice drink at the Chequers. Not likely! Sorry we are way too busy to offer you a drink said the 3 people behind the bar. What's the point of having a pub if you can't serve drinks? We won't make the same mistake again....

A really shocking experience at this pub, not sure why he advertises the Three churches walk on his website when all the tenant did was moan about the customers coming into his pub.Spoken to so rudely and told to wait at the door like a dog as soon as we walked through the door. I was really embarrassed to take my family into this pub after the way we were treated, we left before we even got a drink.Would not recommend this pub, especially if you are doing the Three churches walk. It was really uncomfortable to hear the owner talk negatively about it and the customers it was bringing through the door from behind the bar.The thought of paying for a drink to be spoken to rudely and then to have to listen to someone moan about the pleasure of having customers was extremely uncomfortable.

Today myself and 2 of my children and their partners did the 3 churches walk where the chequers is a named pub along the way. Upon entering we’re we shouted at to stop there on entering the main entrance by the owner i was informed he then told us they were extremely busy but every table was empty!!! Told us to take a seat after several minutes we heard he quite loudly say to another obviously local person it’s a nice day and everyone is doing the 3 churches walk and expects to come and drink here!!as you can imagine I was rather stunned by this response and left as the landlord not only rude and disrespectful he obviously doesn’t want people’s money in today’s climate!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS PUB!!
