Lovely little dog friendly pub with some excellent food. We called beforehand to make sure they had space and they let us know they were a little busy due to a staff shortage, but would be able to accommodate us and our dog no problem. Sadly we missed the amazing looking pizzas, but the fish and chips/scampi where really good and the curry sauce was perfect, served in cute little tea cups! Made for a really nice meal. They were friendly, price was good and we would love to go back. ?

A pub like pubs should be! This pub has a generous landlady who with her sons run a welcoming warm conversational hospitable place to spend some time. Meet some locals, meet some holiday makers. Eat some fabulous food and drink lovely ales by the fire. Dogs and families welcome. Cyclists, walkers, runners, farmers .. a lovely place and we will be back!Vegetarian options: A restricted menu generally to uphold the quality of delicious food and always a veggie option. Probably not somewhere to go if you have extreme allergies

An absolutely amazing venue. I had my baby shower here recently and the hosting was exceptional! Nothing was too much, they decorated, provided amazing catering (the food was incredible!), they just made the whole experience amazing. They unexpectedly took ALL the pressure off and handled everything. Super friendly and kind, I felt like I'd known them for ages despite it being my first time meeting them all. I cannot say enough about this amazing place and the amazing staff. The beer garden is beautiful, the decor is stunning... the atmosphere is gorgeous, it's ideal for any and every occasion from an afternoon beer in the sun to a Sunday roast by the cosy fire (or a special occasion). What a hidden gem. Will definitely be regulars from now on, and everyone who came to my shower (they aren't local) have asked we come back after the baby is born. There wasn't a thing that we weren't all impressed with, you must pop in and try the food, heavenly!(They provided us vegetarian, vegan, gluten free and alcohol free things, and there's plenty of choice! Very budget friendly).Really easy going, any questions just drop them a message!Vegetarian options: Amazing. Home made, so good that the meat eaters ended up eating the veggie and vegan options! There was also plenty of options available and not just "pasta" or "pizza" like a lot of placesDietary restrictions: Gluten intolerance catered for at the drop of a hst, again, no issue here and wasn't limited in what they could eatParking: Parking is easy, large area clearly sign posted, there is a stony car park at the back and a large field area attached to it. There were well over 20 vehicles when we were there and still plenty of roomKid-friendliness: Cinema room and popcorn offered for our children? whilst we had a private function however, the kids were more than happy playing in the "magic garden" whilst being waited on by the staff

We would like to thank the landlord and lady of The Oyster Inn for their hospitality tonight. We turned up for some food and stayed for the pub quiz which we thoroughly enjoyed. The homemade curry was delicious. Thanks for making us feel welcome whilst on our hols ?

Visited The Oyster Inn with friends who were staying at the nearby Wantisden Park site, very friendly welcome from the staff and a good selection of beers with more on the way, menu is minimal but there should be something to tempt you, if only the price at £10 per meal or £6 (I think) for a smaller portion. We had the £10 fish and chips and double burger with chips which was extremely good value, a little wait for the food, however this was not a problem as the landlady provided complementary olives to nibble on. All other facilities were clean and pleasant. Worth giving them a call to check opening times in the less sunny months but if you are heading to the Butley area definitely drop in, if we want good local pubs such as this we must support them!

Great little stop on a cycle ride. People very friendly. They made a lovely grapefruit and lemonade for my partner. I had a pint of pale ale, Woodford (I think). Nice spot. We sat outside £6.50 all in

Amazing food at a local family pub. We had the Home cooked jerk chicken which is an additional option to the menu that was marinated and smoked on the bbq on the day, absolutely delicious! Followed by the biscoff cheesecake. Definitely recommend and will be returning. Dog friendly too with a lovely garden and plenty of parking. Do call up to check the opening hours as google is yet to change.

WOW !!! what an amazing pub !!!we have just had such an amazing evening in this beautiful old pub nestled in the center of the quaint pretty village of Butley. The food and service was truly first class and the staff were so caring.we ordered fish and chips , vegan tahini cauliflower, and burgers and it was all delicious, home made and very well prepared and cooked with love clearly. The fish was very fresh and the batter was so light and crispy the best I've had from a pub to be honest and the chef even came out to check everything was perfect for us which was very caring.I cannot say enough good things about it and you can stay in the b n b behind the pub if you fancy a stay there which is really cozy! The surrounding area is perfect for exploring the suffolk heritage coast as is located near to Orford with the Butley foot ferry linking the two villages along the Butley and Ore rivers which is a lovely walk and Shingle street which is a very interesting beach well worth a visit too. Also the pub is situated next to Rendlesham forest which is famous for its walks and wildlife.Thankyou for making our visit so welcoming and a very pleasurable experience . we will be back very soon rest assured :-)Vegetarian options: lovely vegge vegan optionsKid-friendliness: they have games in the pub to keep kids amusedParking: plenty behind pub

Really surprising to find such good value, good service and good food from a pub that we weren’t even sure if it was open. Vegetarian and vegan options. Smaller plates on request.

We came to this lovely pub twice on our couples get away after a hectic trip away abroad with our small 3 children. We have been staying at the wantisden park and read the reviews for the pub and thought we would pop along. Friday evening we had fish and chips and pie and chips. Both beautifully cooked. Best fish and chips I have had in years. A warm welcome to both us and our golden retriever dog. Upon returning to our car we realised our car has a flat tyre and a friendly local lent us a pump and pointed us into the right direction for a repair. We returned the following evening and met the landlady. What a lovely lady. I talked about my love for home cooked curry and she gifted me a curry book that she has a duplicate of. Made a fuss of the dog and had a lovely chat. We 100% recommend this lovely pub. Beautiful food and a lovely atmosphere. Keep doing what your doing. We will be back.
