Staying in the village for a week we had Sunday lunch and two other weekday lunches at the Anchor. Food was fabulous every meal. The menu was not huge but there were many dishes that we wanted to choose. We have two dogs that were made very welcome. The staff team were all very friendly without being over bearing.Lovely log fires, table decorations and candles gave the pub a wonderful feel.We recommend a meal here.

Very friendly welcome.Only dropped in for a drink while out for a walk.We were so comfortable in front of a log fire we ordered from the menu. The cod loin and chips with very smooth mushy pees and creamy tartar sauce were the very best I have had in a restaurant. The sherry truffle was also delicious.Old world charm in historic pub.Large eating areas, which will be very busy in the season.

Came for Sunday lunch, the only option was roast pork, no beef or chicken. The portion size was good but nothing was seasoned, the gravy was watery and flavourless, veg mediocre and generally just really disappointing.

Decent food, although the vegetarian option felt like an after thought - only one option on the dinner menu and it was quite bland. My partner enjoyed their meaty meal though. Lovely location and good service.

We went here for dinner with our young children. Food, atmosphere and staff were fantastic! The location was great, our waitress was knowledgeable and very friendly. We all loved it and will definitely be back!

Had a family dinner (14 people) at the Anchor last Friday night. Truly fantastic! Amazing food (which catered superbly for a range of food allergies), and even more amazing service - something so rare and hard to find since Covid. I’m a coeliac, and tucked into GF Adnams beer on tap (now that’s very rare!, GF battered fish and chips (again, done properly, very rare!) and a very specially made GF fried banana split (yep you guessed it, very rare!). I didn’t want to leave! Any coeliac visiting Walberswick or the surrounding area MUST go here - you will not be disappointed!! I for one will be back very soon!!! Thank you to everyone at the Anchor for making the family dinner so amazing!!Food & drinks: ? for coeliacs!!!

Paid £17 for a roasted courgette with some cous cous in it, compared with huge portions of fish and chips and other meals at the same price. Just be fair with the pricing and portion sizes guys as it’s not comparable. Came away starving. Also if the negroni listed on the cocktail menu has CHILLI Campari in it, you need to state that on the menu. When I asked why it was burning hot, I was then told, with no offer to exchange it.Hugely misses the mark for the hefty price tag guys!Sorry, came away hugely disappointed:(Food & drinks: Paid £17 for a roasted courgette with some cous cous in it, compared with huge portions of fish and chips and other meals at the same price. We had a lovely couple of meals here recently. The setting was lovely, and we sat out in the marquee area with our dog. The staff were wonderfully friendly, informative, and genuinely enthusiastic about their menu! Plenty of options on the menu, and the food was perfect! The drinks options were plentiful and the cocktails were interesting and different. We all ordered different dishes / beers / cocktails, so we could try as much as possible and then returned the next day to have their Fish n Chips for a late lunch. This didn't disappoint- the fish was thick, moist, and not oily. The chips were perfectly crunchy on the outside and fluffly on the inside. I can't recommend this place enough and Walberswick is a great place to visit. Thanks to all the team but especially Vivienne, Simon, Cam for making it such a memorable evening. Hope to visit again soon!

Looks nice beer was nice. Food wise we had sandwich type things with swordfish and hummus rolls. Was ok but not amazing trying a bit too hard maybe. The pub itself was very nice and so we're the staff. Bit weird you can order food in the marquee tent at the back but not in the garden which is three feet away from where we were sat.

Evening meal at The Anchor. I had booked hoping for a good evening with friend. However we experienced rude service (an older lady) and poor food. The oysters were not served on ice - one definitely didn’t agree with me later that night! The Tuna Nicoise special was supposed to be a seared tuna steak - I seriously wondered if it had come out of a can! When we asked for a side order of chips - as no new potatoes seemed to be in the salad - it was met with a ‘No’ - however we persisted and did get some. Very expensive and very disappointing.

I know times are hard but please make an effort with the decor and choice on the menu We went for Sunday lunch but the pub had no roasts on the menu favouring mostly salads.we had 1 starter 2 main courses and 1 desert 3 drinks all for £85. The carpets where so filthy my partner could not put her handbag on the floor, generally very tired decor. The food however was tasty just too overpriced for the surroundings.

The service and friendliness of the staff was impeccable. However, as is often the case in pubs, the food did not match the price. The oysters were delicious but the mains didn't justify their price tags. Certainly nothing wrong with the food but the overall bill needed to be 20% lower.

Lovely pub really friendly and welcoming staff and the service is first class. Had the beetroot and goats cheese brioche absolutely delicious. Patio area has a huge gazebo which gives welcome relief from the weather really highly recommend this lovely place

Love coming to this place as its a stone throw away from the sea and in a stunning village too...This pub has a lovely terrace in the garden to sit and while away the hours...Sadly not much choice for Vegans on the menu and portions are a bit smaller than they used to be....I have been coming here for years, and will continue to do so....

We couldn’t have been made felt more unwelcome if we tried. The entire experience made me feel anxious and I couldn’t wait to leave. We constantly felt like we were being judged and not good enough to be in there. One staff member (older lady) was extremely rude and made me feel like a bad parent for bringing my child out tor a meal with us at 7.45pm. I would not recommend this establishment if you are a family looking for a meal, intact I wouldn’t recommend it at all. AWFUL… As a business owner myself (I own a dental practice) I can’t believe a business treats their customers like this.
