“Best fish & chips in a very long time! The fish was light & flakey, batter was crispy & tasty. Hot plates, thick crispy chips too ?.A nice touch was the small pots of warm curry sauce. We all really enjoyed our meal, the host was friendly & attentive & our 2 dogs were made welcome.Highly recommended ?.”

“I have been drinking here on holidays, first 1996. As an independent pub, they had a good line in pub grub. Now, as fully part of Adnams, it was pizza from black dog. Not my taste. The pub has a great atmosphere and I included a picture of me with pint on the road to show the view. The selection of beers is great if you like me love Adnams. A word of caution, it’s cash less, cards only. This is true in all Adnams.”

“Staying in the village for a week we had Sunday lunch and two other weekday lunches at the Anchor. Food was fabulous every meal. The menu was not huge but there were many dishes that we wanted to choose. We have two dogs that were made very welcome. The staff team were all very friendly without being over bearing.Lovely log fires, table decorations and candles gave the pub a wonderful feel.We recommend a meal here.”

“Nice little quirky pub but we had a very nice large portion of Cod & chips and Scampi. Served a selection of nice beers and wine. Reasonably priced too.”
