Fabulous old school pub. Very good ale and homemade scotch

Jacob Cantwell-Forbes

A brilliant pub, tucked away from the main town centre. Very welcoming atmosphere with a great choice of beers, ales and ciders. Outside seating also available - would happily recommend.

Wasn’t serving any food so we left after sitting 10 mins in the beer garden. People in the bar were rude commenting on thank you for your time and money (probably staff). Won’t return that’s not how you treat potential customers

Great pub, great proper cask ale pub! Good selection of cask beers for a modest sized pub.

Francis Watson

Lovely pub with a good range of cask ales and ciders hidden at the back of the bar. Well worth a visit. Allows fish and chips from the local chippy to be eaten in the garden.

Nice little pub hidden in a back street. Drinks very reasonable, and not too busy.

Great place for a quiet game of pool.

Luke Barber

Great range of real ales, nice bar snacks too. Very friendly staff.

Good ale selection kept in a stillage room. Strange lights in the bar makes movement a bit "Strobe-ish" after dark. Give the scotch eggs and pork pies a go. Tip top pub generally.

Great little back street pub not far from the station. No handpumps on the bar. All beers dispensed straight from the barrel in the cellar. A 'must visit' when in the area.

My first visit was excellent. Knowledgeable friendly staff. 8 real ales. Had Green Jack Riper. Great place. Highly Recommended
