Lovely staff and fantastic garden/courtyard area, our steak was very overcooked but we didn't let it dampen a lovely experience

Classic Sunday lunch with the consistency of high end service, food, interior and quality at a reasonable price. Yes, a little set back from the town centre but the attention to detail is so professional. I strongly suggest you book in advance to get your preferred time especially if a party over four.

Good food. The roast has declined in my opinion but still a good roast.

We’ve been here a few times and really liked it, but this was the first time as a family. The food was great, something a bit different from the norm. The service was outstanding. Really helpful, accommodating and friendly. Loved the wallpaper too !

First visit here since new management. Will not be going again!! Ordered two ribeye steaks with triple fried chips. Chips were stale and discoloured my steak (medium rare) was cold. My husband had his steak rare and all though not cold it was chewy then he found a piece of plastic wrapping round the fat of the steak !!. Management apologised and took off the cost of husbands steak but charged for mine even though I ate just two or three mouthfuls couldn't eat any more after seeing what was in my husbands steak. Poor customer service, poor quality food and over priced !!!

Arrived at the Wagon after walking out of two pubs/eateries in Sudbury. Expectations were low. On arriving, Staff were immediately welcoming and super friendly. Had nice comfortable looking bar areas with separate dining rooms on older part of building. Nice mix of eaters and casual drinkers. Solid wine list, reasonably prices Chateauneuf du Pape red. We had a bottle and it went down well with our fillet steaks. These were good cuts, well cooked (one rare one well). Deserts were good (Hazelnut Brownie was super tasty), cheese and biscuits generous with a mix of french, Spanish and english cheeses. Cocktails reasonably priced, personally felt they lacked some imagination as fairly basic. What we had was well served and palatable. I would say it is a hybrid dining experience, gastro pub style. Staff were attentive, super friendly throughout, service times really good and food quality was excellent. Will I go back, absolutely. I have had bills twice as much for worse food and spotty service. On the experience of today, I would rank it as one of the best places I have eaten in Suffolk in many a year.

“The Wagon offers something for everyone”. The trouble is that it shouldn’t try to do this all at the same time. We booked for lunch with some old friends but couldn’t hear ourselves think, let alone converse, because of the raucousness of the other clientele seated around us. We asked to be moved to a quieter area which seemed to be unoccupied but were refused. We left after one drink and had a lovely lunch at The Mill, which we recommend very highly.

A warm welcoming pub, lovely staff, professional. Superb, fresh food. Varied choice of menu, something for all tastes. A relaxed atmosphere. Great range of drinks. For me, the range of Nethergate beers on offer, in perfect condition, just sealed the deal. We will be returning very soon.
