Life and demands on 'social excursions" are many so we only manage to visit 4-5 times a year but every time we come away we always comment to ourselves that we should visit more frequently!!If you're in search of a warm welcome with good food then the Henny Swan won't disappoint.Vegetarian options: Excellent options for vegetarians and one of the few places that show a concerted effort on the menu to offer vegetarians a Sunday roast with all the trimmings instead of the usual mundane non-event of a katsu curry or some pasta effort that doesn't even come close to a Sunday roast on a winter's day.

Rumbles Chip Shop
9 Tye Green, Glemsford, SudburyI eat here often and highly recommend it. The food is quality, the staff are very friendly, and always accommodating. The menu is long with many dishes to offer and food can be ordered very quickly and easily on their website. Everyone I've spoken to about this place have said they'd really enjoyed it and that it's one of the best kebab houses in the area.Vegetarian options: Being a kebab house and fish n chip shop, the vegetarian options are fairly limited but the vegetarian dishes available are very nice and highly recommended. They use homemade falafel and really tasty halloumi cheese with fresh salad and a selection of sauces.Dietary restrictions: When ordering online, there is a comment section for dietary requirements.

16 North Street, SudburyI normally do not write any reviews but couldn't stop myself from praising this store. In all honesty, I am a subway BMT lover. I have tried other subway stores while driving my van during lunch time but this one has compelled me to write a review. Went during lunch time to have 4 sandwiches (also for my mates) - BMT, Vegan Patty and 2 Meatball subs. The guy welcomed me as soon as possible. I asked him for all 4 subs and he suggested putting extra cheese in the subs. I agreed. He made 4 sandwiches in less then 5 minutes. Perhaps, the fastest subway guy I have seen in my life. He made the 3 meat subs first and then changed his gloves to make the vegan patty sub. At the end, he wrote on all the sandwiches what was inside to avoid any confusion when opened . I made all of them meal deals with drinks. Then, he packed all the food very neatly in 2 paper bags - One for meat and one for vegan. He was very polite and very fast in his service. Store was clean and spotless. This is the best subway store I have seen in my life. Food 10/10, cleanliness 10/10 and service was beyond words. I wish all subway stores were like this. Will be recommending this store to all my mates.

The food was lovely and I also recently held my son‘s birthday party here.. would definitely recommend! Dogs are aloud and may I add the gardens are kept immaculate and clean, so fantastic for the children.

92 North Street, SudburyWent for the usual ‘nice weather day’ walk with a couple of friends and 6 small dogs and, as is our custom, we went into Nero for a coffee and a pastry. The queue was quite long to order but we’d found a space to accommodate all of us and one of us joined the line. There was ONE person serving. Just the one poor man ON HIS OWN! He was absolutely amazing: not one word of complaint, no moaning, no huffing or puffing - and he must have felt under pressure - just service with a very patient smile! I hope this person gets the wages of the three peoples work he was achieving! I guess it’s a hazard of New Years Day that staff are ‘sick’ but really Nero, be kind to those, like the chap working today (1/1/2024), who absolutely go above and beyond! His attitude is the kind that keeps people wanting to go to the establishment! Whoever you are … we thank you for being lovely under stress.

Melford Valley Indian Cuisine, Hall St, Long Melford, SudburyAmazing dinner last night at Melford Valley Tandoori. Have driven past a million times and wanted to try it so we did.Food was great, menu was different but had the usual suspects. There were so many things we wanted to try. Dinner came out amazing and the dry ice table was spot on. Totally different but have an amazing experience. I couldn’t get my camera out quick enough but next time I will.Well done to the staff for making it a different but usual experience if that makes sense.Staff were engaging and full of information. Sunday buffet sounds like a winner to me as does the tapas style dining. We will return sooner than expected.

We usually buy takeaways, but occasionally eat in the restaurant too. The food has always been delicious and cooked well, and the service is polite, friendly, and efficient.After having tried other Indian restaurants in the locality, I would elect Memsaab as the best Indian restaurant in the area. Lately, I have seen and been quite concerned by a few disappointing online reviews from other diners written during the earlier months of 2023, interestingly being submitted on mobile.We dined at Memsaab for New Year’s Eve 2023, and as well as having a very good meal, we observed other diners, and the waiting times for a few customers collecting takeaways, and noted precisely none of the problems described in the aforementioned reviews. Our meal worked out at roughly £25 each, including drinks and service (at 10%) – this restaurant offers great food at good value!We had a very good evening with excellent food, promptly and politely served.When we arrived, we were promptly shown to our table, noticing the manager was absent from his usual spot. The kitchen and front of house operated smoothly, and he later appeared in chef's whites, explaining he had assisted in the kitchen due to a surge in orders.Our drinks and papadoms came very quickly, with generous quantities of four relishes.For our meal, we ordered eight dishes, which we shared between us. The time from ordering to serving at the table was around 25 minutes (the order was freshly cooked).We ordered a range of dishes, starting with the chicken dhansak, which was very tasty, coming with freshly cooked pilao rice. To join this, we ordered:a vegetable korma (delicious creamy sauce, with a good variety of vegetables, all gently and subtly spiced, and plenty of coconut);a chana masala (gently spicy, well-balanced flavours);onion bhajis (generously portioned, freshly cooked and pleasantly moist and crisp);saag paneer (deliciously creamy, very vegetarian friendly);brinjal bhaji (not actually on the menu, but the chef made a very decent effort, considering it was only cooked in less than half an hour).We also ordered peshwari naan, which had generous quantities of ground almonds and coconut.As we were there, the restaurant was reasonably busy, with multiple people collecting takeaways, and many restaurant tables being occupied. There were no apparent delays in service, and people around us were notably satisfied, especially the group opposite our table.In light of potential concerns delineated in a few reviews from earlier in the year, our visits during 2023 serve to validate Memsaab’s sterling standards in quality, service, and ambience.I hereby warmly express my continued recommendation for Memsaab of Lavenham.PS: a (belated) Happy New Year! As we embark on 2024, let's appreciate the hard work of restaurants and ensure that our critiques are constructive and fair.

3 Gainsborough St, SudburyMy mother and I visited Sudbury today for the first time and had lunch here. The service was fantastic. Both members of staff were very welcoming and helpful. The food was delicious!! I had the Brie, Bacon and onion quiche and my mum had the brie and red onion chutney panini with two coffees . We then fished with the coffee cake which was very nice too. The atmosphere was lovely, especially when they had an elderly lady come in (which is obviously a regular) who they treated like a member of there own family! The food was fairly priced too. I would defiantly return.

Chilton Industrial Estate, Northern Road, SudburyI haven’t been to MD for years, I took my 19 month granddaughter today to Sudbury and I was really impressed. The place immaculate, even though it was busy, a lady got me a high chair and some crayons/drawing for my granddaughter. We had table service so I didn’t have to worry about taking the food and finding a table with it. The food was piping hot and I must say delicious and it was the customer service which will make me return. I feel this is going to be a regular thing now on and a massive thanks to Sudbury McDonalds staff A++++++Kid-friendliness: Definitely set up to cater for little ones

Generous portions of chips. Also tasty and not greasy. Place was sparkling clean. Service very friendly. A pleasure to shop there abd we greatly enjoyed our meal.

The Street, Preston St Mary, SudburySunday roast in a cosy, traditional Suffolk pub? Look no further! Perfectly cooked roast beef with all the trimmings, best I’ve had in a long, long time. Cauliflower cheese included in the roast was delicious. Hudson the Labrador pup is a gorgeous boy with the most beautiful temperament. A very good boy! We will absolutely be returning ???? Thank you!

We were full to bursting and it was totally worth it. Finished dinner off with a drink in the cosy bar next to the fire! Half Moon Inn Belchamp

When they booked the member of staff had the courtesy and professionalism to advise that there would be a large party of diners and that it would be best if we could dine early evening rather than a 7.30pm slot. The table was booked for 6.45pm. On arrival we were greeted by friendly staff and shown to our table. The menu is on a large chalkboard in the bar. We opted for the stuffed chicken x 2, and 2 x suet puddings. Delicious, wonderful favours and well presented. We managed a sticky toffee pudding, chocolate brownie and a scoop of stem ginger ice cream. Again couldn't fault these. Coffees were not great though and we did mention this to the staff, but I've still given a 5 star rating because everything else was perfect at this very quaint, cosy, traditional pub. Hoping to return again soon.
