We went to the fireworks display last night 5th November 2023. The atmosphere was good and the display was excellent. The only let down was the food the hot dog and burgers that were on offer were served cold and bland no sauces the burger slapped in a dry bun and the hot dog was stone cold and the onions were also stone cold. For £5.00 each was very disappointing. Will eat at home next year before coming. Will definitely go again minus the awful food.

Needed a place to stay in our campervan overnight. Found the pub on Britstops app. Overnight parking is free if you eat in the pub. Food was delicious and the atmosphere was very friendly. The overnight toilet was clean and welcoming. Will definitely go back if in the area.

Such a good pub. A real down to earth friendly place with real ale straight from the barrel and lots going on. Well worth going for a Sunday pint or a night

We have been going to The White Lion Pub for sometime now. Its a fantastic Suffolk pub, great location, great beer, friendly staff and excellent food. We decided to hold my Mother's 90th Birthday luncheon here last week in the permanent event marquee located on-site. It was a small party, around 40, and the owners did the catering. The food/buffet was just amazing, excellent rare Rib of Beef (perfectly cooked) along with a home cook ham, poached salmon, salads, rice, and all the usual trimmings, followed by a delicious Lemon Roulade. Apart from the fact the food was superb the presentation was par excellence! I have never known staff to be so helpful, polite and attentive. I can only thank Stephen, Richard, Andy, Kit & all the other staff for their assistance making my Mother's day so special.

Amazing food and lovely quiet country pub. Ample seating outside and games available. Dog friendly. Difficult to get to without a car.

This pub is a recent happy discovery. We live not too far away and are always on the lookout for comfortable friendly local places with good food. The White Lion really fits the bill. Ignore the pictures you'll find online, they somehow manage not to capture the flavour of this pub at all. It's incredibly pretty inside and out, set in a really lovely little village. Most dinner entrees are around £15, which is amazing value for large portions and good home cooked food -- we especially like the pork belly, risotto and local sausage and mash. But best of all is the ambiance -- cozy, comfortable, rustic and friendly -- exactly what you want a country pub to be. The tables outside are great, if you're lucky enough to get a warm and a sunny day. The staff are ridiculously friendly and accommodating, mostly local young people who made us feel totally welcome. How do you choose a pub you know you'll go back to? It's a combination of ambiance, quality, friendliness, and something extra that's hard to describe. The White Lion makes you want to come back again and again. (Also be sure to visit St Mary's church just 5 minutes walk up the road -- an incredible font and 15th century carvings of angels and animals somehow escaped William Dowsing's visit in 1644 -- there to enforce Oliver Cromwell's Parliamentary Ordinance for the Demolishing of Monuments of Idolatry).

Definitely worth the search. Tucked into the back of the village of Ufford. The food is prepared to order and served piping hot without a microwave in sight. I’m a fan of chicken tikka masala and can honestly say this was the best restaurant erosion I’ve ever had. The outside space is very nice and quiet and Lulu the pub dog is a sweetheart.

I was running a water quality workshop on the Deben at the end of the road, the Landlord was extremely helpful letting us use the car park and we decided to support him by having lunch.. A very good decision, the pub is a proper old fashioned Suffolk pub.. friendly and helpful staff were very attentive (it was quite busy) the food was excellent and reasonably priced. Just a shame the micro brewery is not up and running yet.. I'll certainly be back.. Oh they even did a takeaway for one of the group to take her daughter.. Brilliant service.

Really lovely local pub. The beer is very tasty and I'm sure the food is but I didn't eat this time. Friendly bar staff and garden is good and dog friendly.

Been in a few times now and it's good to see the lion back. The beer is pretty good and a few served direct from the keg. The food is not bad either but could be presented a bit better and with a bit more thought. The building fabric leave a lot to be desired and is a bit grubby. The pub lacks a bit of professionalism and the servers need to smarten up. Dare I say it but it could do with a woman's touch - not being sexist just trying to make a point. We will go back and on a regular basis as we want it to work and to be honest that's why we leave such reviews. Obviously the guys are building a business and are trying hard so let's hope things improve, they take onboard constructive criticism and they make a go of it.
