Dare say it might be a great pub, but I didn't get to find out. The Google listing showed it was open on Monday lunchtimes so after getting the bus to Lyne I walked along to the pub. It was shut, with a sign showing that it was closed on Monday and Saturday lunchtimes but open at all others.Closing at Monday lunchtimes is fair enough, there can't be that much trade around, but it took me two minutes to edit the opening times shown in the Google listing to correct them: couldn't the owners/staff have done that when they changed their hours? It looked like a good pub from the outside so I'll be along another time.

A cosy, unspoilt pub serving real ale and competitively priced food! The owners are very friendly too. This was our first visit in which we stopped by for lunch during the Christmas break, but we look forward to returning for dinner in the very near future!

Lovely little local pub, great atmosphere, good food, selection of real ales & selection of alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages. A nice place for a cosy night out with a friendly community clientele

Really nice, welcoming pub. Not a gastropub, but the food was very good. Decent back garden, backing onto a huge field with children’s playground at the far end. Nice to find a proper, old fashioned pub.

The R.M is a great village pub with a lovely atmosphere, the landlord Pat and his wife and excellent mine hosts, good food, and real ale, along with friendly locals, highly recommended.

A hidden gem of a pub. Just be careful of the opening times.

I visit this pub 2 or 3 times a year to meet up with a friend. It is about half way between our houses but each of us still has to travel c 20 miles to meet there. The Marine is a quiet, friendly, unpretentious English pub wuith a landlord and landlady who know their regulars and offer a friendly welcome and unassuming good service to all comers. The beer is in perfect condition, the pub is clean and the atmosphere convivial. It could not be more perfect for our purposes.
