“I have been ordering from the Golden Palace for 20 years. The owner back then was a delightful man, as was his son, and every dish I had was perfect. They sold up a few years, and finally the family that own it now are just as lovely, as is their food, same perfect standard as before. I am spoilt with this takeaway, as I'm wary of trying other Chinese takeaways.”

“After establishing whether our fussy eater was going to choose the Tikka Masala as "it could be a bit too spicy for him", we eventually decided to opt for a set meal.
The array of Northern Indian appetisers looked appealing but the choice to add prawns and sesame seeds to the naan bread was odd.
The table next to us was having a heated (not too hot according to our fussy eater) conversation about how many Mothers Days there are, I can confirm having checked now, that there are 7. The second Sunday in May and the 4th Sunday after Lent appeared to be the most popular.
Anyway, Dorking Wanderers won comfortably at home despite a first half Red Card.
In summary, the waitress showed a competent understanding of French grammar, the place settings were in a weird position only covering 1/2 of the circumference of the table and the Pilau rice had egg in.
Already looking forward to our next visit when we venture to your Sushi Restaurant in Wimbledon on the 19th April.”

“We were delighted to be invited for a special family birthday lunch at Chifan in July. Wow! What a fabulous meal and time we had. Starting with champagne we enjoyed the most delicious starters of perfectly cooked fresh squid, pork and vegetable rolls and marinated chicken wings before moving on to Chinese duck pancakes. The pancakes were lightly steamed and the duck perfectly prepared and served. Our main courses were fragrantly spiced tender lamb with vegetables; steamed pea shoots, duck breast meat with crispy skin ( which had the most gorgeous flavours); green beans with minced pork and small cubes of sweet and sour pork with shaped vegetables.
Everything served to us by the lovely Jessica was utterly delicious. Who looked after us all so beautifully.
It’s been a long time since I’ve eaten such a deliciously fresh and authentic Cantonese meal where the spices and flavours had been especially selected with care.
Huge thanks to my cousin and his lovely wife for inviting us to join them for this outstanding Chinese feast. Well worth the 4 hour drive to Dorking from north Devon.
We will be looking for any small excuse to revisit soon!”
