55-56 West St, DorkingWhat can I say? The negroni was the best I’ve had in years. The carbonara (with actual guanciale) was fantastic. The calf’s liver with onions and mashed potatoes was delicious. The affogato al caffe was perfection. The service was impeccable. What more could you ask for? Me, nothing…other than to go back there again very soon.

2-3 St Martin's Walk, DorkingWent today for some lunch, this was my first visit and I was at first apprehensive because the music wasn’t switched on. That said, as soon as we were greeted it was fantastic. The lamb chops were incredible. The service was genuine and I really felt looked after. I’ll definitely be back!

Plain but wholesome fare, with a nod to an old patron, the late actor Oliver Reed, who once climbed up the open chimney to esconce himself in the hidden priest hole.

It was busy however we got amazing and personal service, being served prawn crisp and water straight away while we were looking at the menu. The food arrived quickly and was delicious! The staff was vey attentive without being intrusive. I’d highly recommend this place for an authentic and satisfying dining experience.

187 High St, DorkingWe had a family dinner at Umami for my daughter's 14th birthday. We had the restaurant to ourselves,(it was a Sunday evening) service was fantastic, food was delicious and the staff were so kind and attentive, they even gave my daughter a birthday card when they discovered it was her birthday. We brought our own cake for her, which they happily allowed, bringing it out at the end of our meal, singing happy birthday to her. Really enjoyable evening. Thank you Umami xx

Denbies Wine Estate
Bradley Ln, DorkingMany people are very keen on the wine from here such as international tourists I have been here with. It is expensive due to high UK tax on wine compared to the low tax in France and Spain and I would imagine to the lack of economies of scale compared to giant vineyards abroad.Also, the climate here is not right for grapes due to their need for constant sunlight so the fact that Denbies can produce any wine at all is a miracle. I have vines in my garden nearby and 2 out of 3 years the grapes just shrivel and die. Therefore, congratulations to Denbies as they obviously know much more than me!

They catered for all our dietary requirements including vegan, veggie, gluten free and other allergies. Couldn't recommend them enough! We had a very happy crew post lunch :)

Wotton House, Guildford Rd, Wotton, DorkingFood was incredible! There were so many options, and lots of gluten free options available. The atmosphere in the restaurant was really nice and relaxing. I had the asparagus to start, and it was lovely. I then had the chicken and it was so good. The flavours complemented each other perfectly and the chicken melted in your mouth. I had the cheeseboard for dessert and they had gluten free crackers.

Third time doing it and it was very tasty, very rich and I'm glad I made the choice, but it was just on the salty side sadly.Otherwise, still a great place for curry and atmosphere.. always clean, staff are always polite and never had an issue (other than the salt!)

This time we ordered king prawn Shatkora ( delicious) , mushroom rice, brinjal bhaji, saag bhaji, lamb madras and poppadums.The brinjal is the best I’ve ever eaten and I’ve tried many over the years.Ordered over the phone which was easy and was told it would be an hour wait as busy but arrived within the hour. I can’t find fault hence my review.

I stopped by with my 6 month daughter to have a pint and was wowed by the cleanliness, out of the world customer service and friendly atmosphere. This pub is a GEM. 5.50 pints with the most loving atmosphere. They was the best hosts and made you really feel like a guest. They delivered my beers to my table, asked ( not intrusively if I needed anything and was so loving and helpful with my daughter. They understood she might need baby changing ext and was very quick to accommodate and even recommended. I ordered the steak and ale pie which was absolutely lovely. I was served by the upmost kindness and professionalism.I found this pub on an off chance and I will be a forever returning customer. The prices are absolutely phenomenal. 5.50 for a pint? I live in London normally a pints at least 6-9 quid.Top work guys in what I can only call an impeccable establishment. My time here was so blissfulIt felt like I found a new home

The outside area has also made a massive improvement, with an amazing seated area, and outside projector screen.The only reason that the service gets four out of five is because it's not quite as polished as everything else. Constructive criticism: the left hand needs to do a better job of knowing what the right hand is doing. Having said that, the staff were all professional, and friendly.

They even let me sit at a table, although the dining area was shut. Im a coach driver and I didn't want to eat them on the coach.The chips were cooked fresh, the. battered sausage was cooked fresh. None of this cook it early and re-fry rubbish that I so often find!!The food was excellent, not greasy and fried to perfection. The roast was just right when we came in for the Beef about a month ago, real care and thought had gone into what a traditional roast should be, the team had delivered a great plate.The views are fantastic from the garden and everyone is lovely there.The customer service makes a big difference and will ensure we come back time and time again, Eliza is a great asset to your team.

45 West St, DorkingHad Sunday lunch, I had traditional Roast Pork with the usual accompaniments. Partner and daughter had Katsu and Nut Roast respectively. Everyone thought food was great in terms of taste and quantity, atmosphere good so no negatives. One tiny point, although we had booked a table and the table was available, it wasn't made clear that you ordered at the bar and the impression I got when we came in was that it was table service so we waited for 15 minutes before finding out. To end on a plus the price at around £17 each I thought very reasonable for Surrey (we were guests in the county).
