I found this absolute masterpiece of a pub by off chance on my way to hike up the hills and straight after . I stopped by with my 6 month daughter to have a pint and was wowed by the cleanliness, out of the world customer service and friendly atmosphere. This pub is a GEM. 5.50 pints with the most loving atmosphere. They was the best hosts and made you really feel like a guest. They delivered my beers to my table, asked ( not intrusively if I needed anything and was so loving and helpful with my daughter. They understood she might need baby changing ext and was very quick to accommodate and even recommended. I ordered the steak and ale pie which was absolutely lovely. I was served by the upmost kindness and professionalism.I found this pub on an off chance and I will be a forever returning customer. The prices are absolutely phenomenal. 5.50 for a pint? I live in London normally a pints at least 6-9 quid.Top work guys in what I can only call an impeccable establishment. My time here was so blissfulIt felt like I found a new home

Visited the pub as years ago we came and was lovely , but unfortunately this time disappointingThe guy who served us the pudding had cut his hand and had a rag wrapped around it while handing my plate , which itself wasn’t very clean, that was not very niceThe cake we were offered was stale and apparently we were told was left over from the weekend , so sent it backOverall the food was expensive and not greatThe servers were ok but seeing a dirty apron and rag over a fresh cut put us offSuch a shame as the pub has so much potential but is now so tired and outdated

Fell into this pub with muddy boots and a dog after a five hour walk. We felt totally welcomed and enjoyed a two hour rest on comfy sofas, refreshing beverages and delicious food. The dog felt happy with the generous supply of treats he was given. Thanks very much.

I had driven past this pub many times but never had the time to stop but today was the day and I’m so glad I did. My partner and I enjoyed a quiet lunch. He had the ham, egg & chips which was delicious. The best chips he’d had in a pub! I had the warm Nachos with beef chilli con carne, guacamole and tomato salsa. It was fantastic. All washed down with a London pride shandy for me and a lager & lime for Mr. We just had enough room for 2 scoops of caramel ice cream for him and a scoop of raspberry & mandarin sorbet for me. Perfect and all under £50! Highly recommend

Great Sunday roast with all the trimmings. I had the lamb. The beer selection (I’m a craft beer fan) is very limited. I had one of the local cask beers which was good, but I just wish there were more local options on the keg side and even in the fridges.

45 minute wait for a single portion of chips. Nudged staff 25mins in and they said that they’ll be with me in a couple of minutes. The outside area was a tip and needs a lot of tlc.
