Excellent value room. Tastefully decorated to a high standard with multiple facilities available within the room - has everything you need and nothing you don't, lovely hot shower too. Initially on arriving in the evening, thought you might be able to hear noise from the pub downstairs, but no noise, really well sound-proofed or maybe room is further away from the pub area, then at night when it is very quiet, you can hear the wonderful gentle rushing of the running River Wey! Lovely breakfast too! Highly recommend staying here!

Terrible experience on the phone with a woman called Tracy when trying to book. Not friendly at all, I have been many times for lunch and will now not be booking a trip to stay here.

6 of us came just for a meal, usually it's good but this time there were problems in the kitchen, food was OK but not great, but 2 hours late, they still added automatic gratuity - cheeky. Will look elsewher for our next get-togetherFood & drinks: average

A bit corporate with ok pub food. Fully priced. Asked if everything ok 4 times but no personal interest and it showed. Are you local? Have you been here before? Etc would be better. No sense of place despite waterside

Went here for the first time for a Mother’s Day breakfast. Awful. Ordered the Full English and half of it was inedible - cheap ingredients, poorly cooked. Extremely overpriced for what you get. Very disappointing.

Avoid at all costs! Disgusting service and food is the worst I have tasted. Burnt toast and exceptionally small portions. The only thing they do well is knowing how to charge exorbitant prices! AVOID AVOID AVOID . The worst place I have EVER eaten at! (The one star rating is only because there's no option to give negative ratings!)

Went for an evening meal, car parking good, although can fill up quick. Restaurant well presented and staff excellent. Food was good, but portion size on the small side.No soup starter when I visited. Sold out.Service charge added.

Saturday brunch. Lovely generous croque monsieur, nice burger. Tea pots were a little small. Obviously popular, parking tricky.

Came here for Sunday lunch and so pleased we did. The food was excellent and quick service too. Great choice of wines and champagnes by the glass. Really friendly service and very dog friendly. Dessert menu was amazing, I wanted to try all but we settled on the choux - yum! Partner had the lamb, it was a small portion but perfectly cooked and I had the chicken pie which was amazing. Thanks team, we will be back!

Disappointing Friday lunch.Main course did not come with veg and there was no "green" option of veg on the sides list. Many of the sides were cooked in beef fat, which restricted the choice even further. The colcannon mash that I chose was swimming in oil.We waited one hour to be served our food (main course only) and had to keep reminding the waiting staff to bring the drinks we'd ordered. One waiter and barman were helpful when they did get to us, but the restaurant was full and they were obviously being stretched. More staff required. The room was very cold and we, along with other guests, wore our coats throughout the meal.I've been to The Stag on a number of occasions, but our experience this time would not encourage a return.Worth noting as well that there is insufficient parking for a full house. I parked quite a distance away, as the car park was full, as well as nearby street parking.
