Perfect for a cuppa and toilet if working locally.

Just had a meal which was a Xmas present We were rushed out and then had a horrible experience with a member of staff who accused me of touching her when I asked for my coat!! Quite astonishing ! Someone should not be working in hospitality with an attitude like that !!

The food was the usual high standard of the Ivy but the service was left wanting, not up to the high standard experienced at other branches. No offer to take coats so we kept them with us. Champagne & Wine not placed in a cooler.

Absolutely disgraceful service for our New Year’s Eve meal at Wimbledon Ivy Cafe, the waitress we must say was amazing from beginning to end but the manager and other staff (not in uniform) were rude, arrogant and ruined our whole evening. To start with our starter came out which was arrancini and we also ordered bread to come with, the bread arrive 20 minutes later and only after we asked where it was did it arrive, the mains this was absolutely appallingly our food arrived my partners steak was cold, we told a lady who wasn’t in uniform so assume part of the management team and she said she would get the general manager after 10 minutes no one had come over so we asked someone else and he finally came over, to be asked if we just want it reheated or a fresh one.. by this time I had eaten half my food which is when I discovered the first hair in my dish unsure if it was my own I picked it out and carried on, my partners food took 20+ minutes for a new one to come out I then found a further hair which was blonde and short (I have long black hair) I told the waitress who said she would get the manager, 10/15 minutes later he came over my partner was in the toilet at this point I explained I found 2 hairs one of which could be mine as it was dark but the second was short and blonde he huffed, snatched the plate and walked off! No apology or even attempt at a conversation with me I left just under half the food as I was so put off eating at this point finally my partners food came out so we didn’t get to eat together, I got a dessert so I wasn’t just sat while he ate, we got the bill they took £25 off which was maybe 10/15% off mine and my partners main, I think this is no where near enough compensation for hair in food, a cold steak then not being able to eat together, we just wanted to get out at this point so just paid up but for £100 we feel robbed at the service we received really disappointed and put a real down on our evening.

Our meal at the Ivy was terrible. We visited on New Year’s Eve, it was a set menu advertised as including “spectacular” entertainment. There was no entertainment! As soon as we arrived, there was a cold and unwelcoming atmosphere. The lady that greeted us was not pleasant. We were then taken to this random enclosed garden annex, it was cold and filthy. There were cobwebs everywhere. We should have received champagne on arrival, but waited ages for this. I ordered the fillet steak and had to send it back twice as it was raw, I wanted it cooked to a medium level. I couldn’t eat it, either parts were burnt or raw. I couldn’t send it back again as our meals had already be severely delayed and my husband was halfway through his meal. At no stage did the manager come and speak with us to apologise. When the bill came, the man dealing with us said that the Ivy wanted to give us our wine for free given the issues faced. It was unbelievable that they were still trying to charge £85 (set menu charge plus the £5 steak supplement and an extra side) when I couldn’t eat my main. Although we managed to get this removed from the bill, they still tried to charge us for the steak supplement and extra side (both I didnt eat). He was so irritated that we’d asked to amend the bill again. We ended up paying the £5 steak supplement which was still remaining, we couldn’t be bothered to explain ourselves anymore to get this removed. When we left, the queue was out the door and people were complaining that they’d be waiting ages for their table. It was a shambles. We will not be returning.

Friday night dinner with friends, wow. The restaurant was buzzing and so beautifully decorated. It was my first visit to The Ivy and I was so impressed with the food and service. We had zucchini fritti with a delicious dip for “the table “ The starters were generous portions and the walnut Stilton soufflé was delicious. We all had fish for our main, cooked to perfection. We were looked after by our server Tommy. Very polite and friendly. He was very knowledgeable about the menu. The restaurant was really busy but he always came to the table with a smile.

After my last visit to The Ivy in Chichester, i wasn’t expecting too much. However The Ivy Cafe in Wimbledon was a pleasant surprise. The gorgeous decor goes without saying, but the food and service at this branch was very good, with cheerful attentive staff, who coped well in a packed restaurant. Food was very good and house champagne superb. Thank you. Definitely worth another visit on next trip to Wimbledon

This work reunion lunch was held in the very festively decorated and busy Ivy. Booking on line was straightforward and needed because at this time of year, it’s very busy. Service was attentive friendly and quick. A nice bottle of Cote du Rhône arrived quickly. The Stilton and walnut soufflés were very popular and despite I think being poached and needing a little more sauce, were delicious and well done. Boned chicken in a brick was extreme tasty and the poultry shepherds pie was popular. We finished some three hours later with coffee and truffles. I thought the price was reasonable and it was a lovely lunch. We didn’t take the festive menu so no crackers but when asked about the quality of the jokes, a kind waitress gave us a cracker which entertained us and was a nice gesture.

Beautiful interior and very attentive waitress. Just won't be returning as very cold restaurant, food barely warm and cold coffee. Don't understand all the hype.

We visited the Ivy Cafe in Wimbledon Village as we had a voucher from a friend. We’d been here before in 2022 but didn’t think the service was great so hadn’t been back but didn’t want to waste the voucher. On arrival, the person greeting us in the entrance lobby genuinely gave the impression they were doing us a favour by acknowledging us and having us seated. By contrast the person taking our order was really nice and attentive, but since our visit in 2022, it seem the Ivy cafe has rammed in a few extra table so if seated on the banquet seating in the back right of the restaurant, anyone sitting in the banquet has to squeeze through a 30cm gap between the next table to get to their seat. I was sat opposite my partner on a chair and honestly was elbowed every time the server tried to serve my partner as the space was so tight. Whilst they were apologetic, and the seating space wasn’t their fault. It just wasn’t a great experience. This restaurant is priced as a place you’d expect not to be crammed in like a Maccas. You’d also assume the food would be pretty good but both our meals were fairly average. Would NOT. Recommend

A pleasantly traditional restaurant that is well worth a visit. It gets busy so remember to reserve a table. We went with high expectations and were not disappointed. Good service, a great menu and delicious food. Well done.

Sadly I've been coming to this place since it first opened its doors. As someone who's lived in the village for many many years I've seen many places come and go and whilst the food is as expected for this chain I cannot say the same for the service. I feel pity for the staff because of the racist German night duty manager who unfortunately managed to ruin an otherwise amazing day. Just because people speak Russian should not be treated differently. Sadly the manager decided that my wife and her friend cannot have drinks because he heard them speaking Russian and told them to leave. Well she's Ukrainian!!! And not all Russian speaking people are the same. This is like saying all Germans are bad and racists. In this day and age what a load of b*******. The franchise owner better get rid of this person and his shameful behaviour . There are other nice restaurants in the village with impeccable service. Sadly everytime I come to the Ivy the attitude is crap and so full of hot air. Utterly useless. Start by go to school and learn how to to deal with people and treat people .

I hosted a private business function at The Ivy Wimbledon for a group of 25. It was an important event for the brand of the business. Having looked at several other options, The Danby Room on the 1st floor of The Ivy seemed to tick all the boxes. And so it turned out. The head office support and sheer efficiency brought me peace of mind. Additions and changes were coped with. An understanding our budget was appreciated. On the day, everything ran smoothly with an exceptional welcome from Lyndon and his team and our on hand staff throughout, Joanna and her colleagues. Nothing was too much trouble; the food was plentiful, good value and delicious, and the room vibe was luxurious and warm and welcoming. Exactly what we needed. I am very grateful for all the support and service and we will certainly return.

Ivy Wimbledon is one of our favourite neighbourhood restaurants. There is consistently very good food and perfect service. However, I always complain about the very tight seating and lack of space. In fact, this is my general complaint about all Ivy restaurants. Space is as tight as in Ryan Air aircrafts. This is particularly the case, if you are booking a table for an odd number of people. If you book a table for 3 people they squeeze you to a 2 people table. If you book a table for 5 people they squeeze you to a 4 people table. Therefore, I suggest you round up to the next even number while making the reservation if you are planning to book a table for an odd number of people. This is the only way you can beat the IVY system.
