Popped in for a quick beer and snack. In total, I had a pint and a half of Shere drop and chips with wstercress mayonnaise. The service at the barvwas prompt and efficient. The chips were "real" chips not French fries. The beer wss excellent. The prices were reasonable.

For ongoing excellent service and taking care of the beer for the beer drinkers Chris deserves 5 stars.

Chris has to win 5 stars for being the most affable bartender, always cheerful, warm & friendly.

Best pub in the area by far, London(ish) prices and London service but also caring, friendly and super nice every time. Amy who served me and is an unbelievably talented all around fabulous person in a team that always cares, asks and responds. I’m not sure what else you you would ever want from a lovely, lively & friendly local place that’s always welcoming, fab drinks, food and service ✌️

A superb pub and restaurant ?Certainly the best I've experienced in Redhill. The service from Karina was excellent, your warm and welcoming attitude is commendable, you were attentive and courteous through, outstanding service ??Home cottage has a lovely atmosphere in general with traditional features like an open fireplace as well as a large modern restaurant area and outside seating area under cover too.The food is excellent and reasonably priced £24 for 3 course lunch with drink.I have avocado on sourbread, chunky chips and apple crumble all of which were well presented and excellent quality.Highly recommend ???

Edit- because this was responded to so quickly, I have increased to 4 stars overallWe arrived on a Friday evening, and was able to get a table for 2 in the dining area.Lovely environment, very friendly staff, good drinks menu, and good food menu.Value for money ok on starters and mains, but the cheese dessert I had at £10 was a little lacking on qty and quality. 2 small pieces of average quality cheese, 6 small grapes, small piece of quince jelly, and some nice crackers. The dessert hubsta had was better but also not necessarily good value for money. Good tasting coffee, which is always a bonus for me.Would go back, but I wouldn't necessarily have a dessert.

Four friends and I chose the Home Cottage to get together to celebrate a 60th birthday on Saturday. We booked at least a month in advance. I was asked whether I was coming for the Rugby and I said no and that I definitely didn't want to be near the screens/ fans cheering etc. Anyway when we arrived we walked in and up to the entrance to the restaurant area where we were soon met by a lady who having asked my name took us back into the pub area to an alcove and showed us our table. She didn't say anymore. We sat at our table for a while looking at our menus . No one came to offer us drinks or take our order. We then noticed a small blackboard which said order from the bar or something else which I supposed was an app. We wanted a waitress to serve us not spend time downloading apps then trying to work our way through an online menu. I made a note on my phone of what everyone wanted and went to the bar to order. I had to wait a while to be served and once order was placed I had a card machine shoved at me to pay. I didn't want to pay at that stage and I certainly don't expect staff to assume that I'm paying by card, which I wasn't! Also my friends and I wanted to split the bill at the end, 3 of us wanted to pay cash and 2 by card. Anyway the staff member asked the manager if it was ok for us to pay later to which the manager agreed. He was friendly enough. Our meals were not great. The mussels were tasteless as was the fish pie which two of us had. The fish pie was about the size of a jam jar, was two thirds potato and and contained just white fish as far as I could make out . As I said it was tasteless as was the veg which came with it even though the veg looked nice. One friend had the quinoa salad and the other the burger which they said was quite nice. Our table was cleared but we weren't really asked if everything was ok. We were not offered desserts or coffees or drinks. I eventually went up to the bar again, this time to order coffee and once again had the card machine shoved in my direction. I spent far too much time queueing at the bar which should have been spent with my friends, therefore felt totally out of the conversations. I had to go up to the bar once again to get the bill. No one came to take our payments so we trotted off back to the bar to pay. There was quite a large party in the restaurant area hence I assume why we were put in the bar area. I think we should have been informed that we wouldn't be in the main restaurant, told we wouldn't be waited on and given the choice to cancel. A very disappointing evening indeed!!

My visit to home cottage was really great! On a fairly busy mother's day everything was great from food, service and atmosphere. Special shout out to jess and violet who were serving my table. Both of them were really attentive and friendly from the moment we sat down to taking our drinks orders, checking we were OK once food had arrived, always making sure we were OK for drinks throughout the meal. Never felt rushed whilst being there.Would highly recommend!Dietary restrictions: As someone who suffers from a dairy allergy, home cottage are very attentive with making sure a manager or supervisor comes over to take the order and bring over the food to make sure it is correct to what is ordered! I feel the menu has great options and is clear for what allegiens are in each dish.

Sadly the food today on Mother Day was very under par. The cauliflower cheese was literally a small cauliflower in a dish covered with melted cheese., no cheese sauce. The roast potatoes were soft and soggyMy guest has roast beef was so stringy and fat along with the roast pork being disgustingDue to my son hates complaining we said nothing, we are so devastated that the meal was so disgusting and a waste of expensive money.Should have gone to The PheasantI think we should be compensated with a refund. The table was booked under Mrs Lesley Knight
