Unreal food here, every time. We order so often staff have started to call us “garlic man” ?. Our favourite is the minted lamb baguette served with hand cut chips which the restaurant serves every Sunday. Unreal food, hearty portion and so tasty, it has you coming back repeatedly… for the garlic too! ?

Visited 06/09/23. Called in for a spot of lunch. Been here quite a few times over the years but it's not close enough to call a local. Staff were friendly enough and the food arrived fairly quickly. Never happy if it arrives late and never happy if it comes out within 5 mins. I'm sure you know what I mean. Waiting time was just right.I ordered fish finger sandwiches with chunky chips and my wife ordered Nachos with chicken. Both meals were canny enough but nothing special I suppose. The strange thing about the Fish finger sandwiches was the quality of the white bread. It seemed like they'd served up the cheapest bread they could lay their hands on. Odd. We also had a pint of shandy and a white wine spritzer. Total cost about £25. It's a decent enough pub to be fair. Chips as a side I thought were a touch expensive at £4.50. There's also a decent outdoor seating area if the weather is good. Toilets seemed clean too. Plenty car parking also. Yeah, give it a go..

Called here for a lunch. Have visited before and was happy with food and service. Today 2 of the group ordered fish and chips. Fish was lovely but the chips were dry and inedible. Looked as though they had been left in an oven and completely dried out Brought this to the attention of the waitress who shrugged it off. No apology. Won't be going back

Went on sat 29/7/23 for an anniversary meal out with the hubby. Food was fantastic as it always is whenever we go for food. Staff are always friendly and happy to help. They had a couple of big parties in so was told food might have a little delay but we didn’t wait long at all but was nice to be told in advance. All in all a lovely place to go and will definitely be back.

Went for Sunday lunch. My wife and I both have mobility problems and informed them of this at the time of booking. They said that they would make allowance for this. When we arrived we had to go up 3 steps to get to our seat. We were able to do this but they did not ask if we could do this. We were seated and waiting for someone to come take our order when we noticed a sign saying that orders must be placed at the bar. I made my way to the bar and had to negotiate around tables then down the 3 steps, then I had to pass by people in a narrow hall who were carrying their drinks. This was difficult as I cannot walk in a straight line and am unsteady on my feet. When I ordered I asked the barman to bring my drinks to the table which he did willingly. I asked for a lamb and beef and asked whether they would be able to put some of each on our plates. They said we would have to do this ourselves as the chef was too busy. This is also the reason they were not serving food outside. It was a lovely day and they were turning business away as they were too busy to serve food at the outdoor tables. The food was delicious (apart from the mashed potato). The meat was so tender and tasty. When I went to pay I tried to explain to the barman about the difficulties and lack of awareness but he couldn’t spare me a second as he was walking away from me rather than listen. Poor customer service especially to disabled customers. Nobody came to check whether we were enjoying our meal or whether we would like another drink. I also noticed that they cleared tables ready for the next guests and put a high chair in place for a child. They are good at preparing for children but not disabled customers.

Nice relaxed atmosphere. I love the steak pie and whether you choose mash or chips, there is a pile on your plate as with the veg.

Was really looking forward to this as a birthday treat…… You don’t feel pampered ….. There is no table service. - you had to order your own food and drinks at the bar …… The sea bass arrived a bit frazzled ….. The lamb chops were difficult to cut through and we had to ask for a steak knife …. Partially retrieved by the delicious chocolate brownie desert …..

Booked to celebrate my grandsons birthday (at short notice) meal was absolutely delicious, well cooked and well presented… good variety to choose from…. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal (6 of us) … waiting time was minimal and the service from staff was excellent … definitely recommend the engine room ….Parking: Plenty of free parking spaces ….

Up from the West Midlands for the weekend came in for Sunday lunch. The lamb roast was brilliant with mashed potatoes and mashed sweeds plus vegetables and mint sauce well done ?

Out with our son for late lunch. Food very good. The only thing that lets it down was the 30 minute wait for starters.
