Ordered a bottle of the Shiraz and it was quite possibly the worst red wine I've ever tasted. Was hoping the food could revive the night, however again this was rather disappointing as the lamb was tough and frankly tasted of pork, with the dish as a whole being rather bland. The restaurant itself was very basic and generally dull. Would definitely recommend finding a nicer experience for around £25 a head.

Fantastic Sunday lunch at Ilbays. 2 courses for £11.95 is great value.The hummus was so flavoursome and was great with Turkish bread and the tasty sucuk. The slow cooked lamb came out piping hot with tasty mash, Yorkie pud and veggies. The Beyti Sarma was beautiful and herby with a fresh addition of yoghurt.Would definitely visit again and would also consider getting food delivered.

Me and my friend dined here and it was absolutely fantastic from the minute we got there, lovely waiter, starters arrived in a timely manner. I highly recommend the lamb hummus starter it was incredible and so soft. We shared the Mixed Grill, this thing was HUGE. I honestly can't fault a thing everything was cooked so perfectly, not a dry piece of meat in sight. These guys know how to cook!!! I've had food from these guys for years, Can't wait to come back with my friend. See yous soon! Thankyou for a great afternoon and amazing food as always

Great restaurant. Great food. Great atmosphere. We visited here for a quick lunch and were not disappointed. As vegetarians we were both very pleased that they had a great selection even on their lunch special menu which was tremendous value and the portions were very generous. We had a humous and halloumi starter with some amazing Turkish bread (worth coming here for the bread alone), followed by vegetarian mousakka and baklava for desert. All of it left us wanting more if only we were not so full. Pleasantly full of course. Would definitely recommend.

I’ve visited iibays on regular bases the food and service is amazing definitely recommend lunch and dinner menu’s there. Great atmosphere and service one of the best Turkish restaurants in the north east .

This was absoulately stunning experience for me and my friends having our dinner at Ilbays Turkish Restaurant. Service we had, food quality and ambiance were amazing. There are only few Turkish restaurant in Newcastle but Ilbays is much far away from others on food quality and service. I highly recommend this place if you d like to taste the real Turkish food and great service. You can even have your business lunch and dinner there. It`s in very nice location as well, easy to find. Also the owner is lovely person too. He is so kind and very welcoming.

10 of us had a fabulous meal out in Ilbsys for my birthday. All the meals were so delicious & the service was just fantastic with the best advice on the dishes we wanted to choose, she knew everything. Thanks for all your help & brilliant service. I even got a decorated Happy Birthday plate with a slice of choolate cake mmmm. Thank you to the chefs, the fab service by everyone and for a great night! We will be back ?

Four of us went there for Friday night dinner. The restaurant welcoming and the food delicious. We enjoyed some of the classics plus some things more unusual like the Lamb's Liver. All very tasty, we were too full for dessert.

We went for about 5pm had the 3 courses for 13.95 omg the food was amazing my husband said the moussaka was the best he had ever tasted and the baklava was simply delicious 10/10 well done to all the team . We will be back xx
