“If you want to see some oil paintings in Newcastle, this gallery is your best choice. They have two free floors and all the artwork they have is something they usually don’t change but they are not too bad. They have one room on the top floor that has seasonal art exhibits but I heard they are not worth 7 pounds. I think it depends on the exhibition. The art shop is lovely but again their products are mostly generic, but some of the art books are very cool.”

“This is a very popular spot for coffee and/or lunch with a constant turnover of tables - so the wait won't be long if you don't find a seat straight away. Baked potatoes are very good as is the homemade soup. Cakes are excellent, the ginger cake alone is worth the return trip for me. There are several, quality retail outlets to peruse too.”
