What is the point of having a chip shop in Sunniside…. It’s never open …. People work shifts and pubs still close at 11 pm ….it’s advertising as being open until 22:00 on a Saturday but never is … this was the best chippy in the area now it’s a wast of time even going up there as it’s always CLOSED……. Time to sell it on ……

Not good at all. I don't think the chips were cooked properly, they were hard. Garlic sauce tasted off. Lets hope i’m not ill

Been going downhill for a while now, highest price chippy in the area and they're hardly open anymore.Bad enough, but the fish I bought today wasn't even cooked. Batter was raw and fish was raw and cold in the middle.Not surprised though, as the base on the last pizza from here was raw as well. Go elsewhere.

Best fish and chips in the North East and if you can't afford the fish, try the sausage, it's huge by the way, with their generous portions of chips. The place is spotless and the staff are dead canny.

Really loved this shop.I had the famous fish and chips and, let me tell you, i’ve never had any better fish and chips in the whole of the UK.First of all, the fish was cooked perfectly on both sides and the fish was not curled as I’ve experienced in a different chippy.Second, the fish was not soggy and the batter had a wonderful crunch and crispness.Overall, I definitely recommend Gills Chippy to everyone. The staff work very hard ensuring that all of the food is of good quality and is cooked properly.If you ever want to try some proper fish and chips, head down to gills chippy.

I Found the fish and chips weren't great. The batter on the fish wasn't cooked properly. This has happened twice lately so giving a miss for a while.
delivery was 1 and a half hours when i only live 2 mins away.kebab was cold, hard and tasted like beef more than anything.
