Lovely one night stay. Hotel was immaculate, no problems, just a bit noisy in the morning (bottles bins being collected at 07:00 on the Saturday) noting our room was on the rear of the hotel, on the side furthest away from the River Tyne.Walkability: Short walk from the railway station. Located right on the quayside. 5 minutes from the centre of town.

We paid for a bridge view room and it was beautiful especially at night time with the bridge lit up.

We stayed for 2 nights at the Newcastle Malmaison. Excellent service, really friendly, attentive and accommodating staff, particularly the breakfast staff. The breakfast was amazing! Definitely recommend.

Ient for dinner here with my partner and the overall experience was delightful. I had a food allergy and the staff was so attentive and considerate, I felt very safe and comfortable. The atmosphere was perfect as well as the food and its presentation. We really enjoyed the experience and would recommend it.

Rooms are never quite as nice or as large as I would hope them to be stopping in the Malmaison. That being said they are nice enough, especially if you get a river view. location is fantastic and staff are always very good.

Very good, close to everything. Great nights sleep, the rooms are a lot more modern, than most hotels. I'd definitely stay again.

Staff are very helpful nothing is to much trouble. You are treated more like their friend rather than a customer.

My husband and I decided to book a room for our first ever experience of viewing the laser show on the Quayside for New Years Eve.We decides to make it something special as we have never celebrated it this way since we both came here to live in Newcastle. There are plenty of good things to note about our stay -Prior to checking in, staff have rung to check in about arrival times and asked if we needed to book dinner reservations as well as if we required any assistance on arrival. I was quite impressed as I have to admit, this was a first for me in any hotel that I have booked a stay in. The usual was an email reminder or prompt, but I've never had a phone call - so I was quite surprised and impressed. On arrival at check in, the reception staff were nice and greeted us with warm smiles. Information was checked and we have been provided details about facilities and breakfast meal times. The room was spacious and impeccably clean, the bed was large and was socomfortable, it made me sleep so soundly to the point that we almost missed breakfast!Airconditioning in the room was great, and all amenities provided were of good quality and were visibly and readily available. Wardrobe space was large, stocked with plenty of hangers and shelf space. And iron and ironing board was also provided inside the wardrobe.Coffee and tea station was also situated in the cupboard allowing plenty of table space on the working area of the room. The bathroom came with a rainfall shower over a spacious bath tub as well as towel drying rails. It was (and smelled) fresh and clean! The view from the room was amazing - it saved us the hassle of having to squeeze into the hoarde of people wanting to see the laser light show at midnight, and avoiding the rain and cold! I literally just needed to sit by the window sill to clearly see everything going on!The rate I payed for included dinner and breakfast - bargain for the price! Dinner was allowed choices from the set menu or ala carte options, and eitherway, the food was impeccable. Breakfast was similar in a way that it was a choice from the menu provided - so if you're used to buffet breakfasts, the only buffet-ish in nature is the bread/toast area and the cereals and yogurts. Other than that, the hot meals were prepared as you ordered. Some little pinch points included in room for improvement based on our stay and room would be:Few little things, but specifically could count as my personal preference.1. Power sockets/charging station by the bed - in our room, we only had one power socket near(ish) to the bed - and this was on the wall adjacent to it. Luckily we had a long lead for the charger, so we could set the phone on the bedside table. There were plenty of others but they were mostly situated on the desk in front of the bed (on the designated office area).2. Would have liked options for firm pillows - There were about 4 pillows on the bed plus 2 large square pillows which I found more appealing than the floppier ones dedicated for sleeping.3. Wait for food at dinner time - although we were forewarned that it was a busy night (it was, afterall, New Year's Eve) we patiently waited for our food to come. It was worth the wait, as the food tasted amazing - but we felt that the staff were rushed off on their feet. So maybe more staff to accommodate dinner service would be something to consider.Despite these though, overall we had a lovely and amazing experience! Shame that we only managed to stay overnight as hotel bookings were apparently full! Next time, were definitely staying longer!Nearby activities: Food and drinks at the Quayside - there are plenty of options for restaurants and cafés!You can do early morning walks along the Quayside stretch and go across to see the Baltic, just over the Millenium Bridge!
