We were coming to Newcastle for our 25th Anniversary and booked here as it looked perfect for us - unfortunately, they cancelled with 5 days notice. Not sure we'll be able to re-book at such short notice for a Saturday night Really disappointed
I don't usually write a bad review, but this restaurant deserves one. It needs a good clean, skirting boards, shelves and ornaments covered in dust. Table sticky, needs a thorough degrease. Cutlery and glasses need washing and polishing. There was no draft beer, lots of items not available on the menu. The waiter was lovely, I felt sorry for him having to apologise for the restaurants short comings, it seems to me that maybe it's about to close down. I did not stay to eat because it was dirty.

Looking at the glowing reviews on this site, I did double-check that I was giving feedback on the same place. I had heard many positive reports about this restaurant in its heyday, but sadly, that period seems to have passed. It was OK. Plenty of room for walk-ins on the evening that I was there.
