We attended Nest for a lunch after booking in September. We have been here multiple times and thoroughly enjoyed some menus but a couple of dishes haven’t been to our liking - which you would expect being a tasting menu. When visiting today, all of the dishes on the menu were underwhelming - lacking taste and any texture. Also the portion sizes seem to get smaller and smaller. The ‘Fish Pie’ came out, the fish was undercooked and cold in the centre. I explained this to the waiter. He checked with the kitchen and the chef said that’s how the fish is, and it should be flakey. However, it is evident that this fish was not flakey but raw. I would’ve appreciated an apology/honesty. The service was good and welcoming, apart from the above discussion. Sadly won’t be returning.

Rubbish , the place was freezing cold . Food average . The place was stinking of cooking grease . Wine fab , service excellent . Apart from desserts the rest of the food was cold . Wouldn’t go back or recommend . We waited 3 months to get in . Don’t believe the hype. Better restaurants around Newcastle to visit . We got home and our clothes were stinking of cooking grease. We both felt under whelmed by the whole experience .

We arrived here with great expectations and our experience exceeded this. A lovely informal atmosphere and waiting until every table had arrived then service began. Everyone is served together which makes perfect sense. The food was sublime and clever.what surprised us was that despite choosing the non vegetarian tasting menu, there were 2 dishes consisting of vegetables but the flavour, oh my god. I now want to try the vegetarian tasting menu as well. I didn’t realise you could get vegetables to taste so incredible. The service was perfect, attentive without being overthe top. Our only regret was that we were in a hurry to leave as our taxi was waiting outside and ended up not leaving a tip which was thoroughly deserved but I promise we will be back and we will make up for this.

Another great meal at Nest, from the cocktails to the wine, service & of course the food everything was top notch. I love the excitement of waiting to see what each dish on the tasting menu will be. My favourite dishes this time around were And the beet goes on (the spicy carrot at the bottom was delicious) and my little dumpling which had the most wonderful unctuous chicken broth. Special shout out to the young man who served us he was very friendly & knowledgeable about the food & wine.

Perfect ambiental music. Lovely food. Perfectly aligned serving. Too few words for a perfect culinary experience. There are still dishes I need to try, so I’ll come back for sure!

We visited Nest to try the new Bistro night menu, Monday & Tuesdays. There are lots of food choices, all looked so good to be honest, difficult to choose. We had monkfish and scallops for starters, followed by steak with triple cooked chips followed by cookie dough and cheesecake. Food delicious, service very friendly and attentive, great atmosphere. Would thoroughly recommend. Cant wait to try the tasting menu and enjoy another fabulous Sunday Lunch again. Well worth a visit or two

The restaurant is a cosy little place with plenty of on street parking. We booked Sunday lunch for my wife's birthday. We were shown to our table by a very attentive waiter. He presented us with the Sunday lunch and drinks menu. The drinks order was taken quickly, and it was great to see they had a good variety of 0% non alcoholic drinks, including fizz. There was also a good children's menu, which catered for my twin grandsons. The food order was taken, and with the open kitchen presentation area, you get to see the food being "plated up." Everything that we ordered was well presented and tasty. After a short break, the mains arrived. Again, the quality of the food, including the vegetarian dish, was amazing. The desserts were equally tasty. I have eaten in a number of Michelin starred restaurants around England, and the quality of the food is up there with a number of them. I would like to thank the staff for making us welcome and their attention to detail when presenting the food. It's definitely a hidden gem in Heaton.

A lovely treat lunch . Food was very well cooked and the pace of the meal was just right . Parking was an issue maybe it is easier on an evening. Staff very pleasant

We went for the six course lunch tasting menu with old friends for a Big Birthday celebration, after many good reports of Nest from reliable foody friends. We were not disappointed, and splashed out with the wine pairings too. Excellent dishes, beautifully presented and interestingly explained by our waitress. We had a great time, and really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere coupled with the absolute professionalism required to produce a high class meal. Our only criticism was with the BBQ Lamb Cutlet, which was a too salty. So, a sliver away from a Michelin Star, and a TI review star dropped in what was otherwise an excellent celebratory occasion.

Can’t fault the restaurant on the location, parking availability, service and seating ( which was very comfortable). The music needs to be looked at - awful playlist. Experience was ok but definitely lacking in something - probably hot food for a starter. We opted for one vegetarian and one meat option from the lunch tasting menu. The only piece of meat on the “meat” option was a piece of stone cold, drier than dry chicken . My wife told me it was awful by itself so had to chop it up and mix it in with the sauce that was on the plate and eat like baby food you could say ( everything just congealed). The sauce on our main course had been sitting for a long time as it was split by the time we got it ! I had the gnocchi and it was mediocre, tepid again with a split sauce. Every course that came was either cold or tepid. Desserts were really lovely but we left underwhelmed to say the least. At the end of the meal, four loud girls decided to FaceTime someone - this kind of ruined the experience a little more and we felt that the staff should’ve intervened and asked them to not do that - it’s rude. Ignorant and not of a restaurant establishment. It let the place down a bit really. Not the restaurants fault but still ….. All in all - we don’t understand what the fuss is about.

We've walked past Nest on previous visits to Newcastle and were intrigued by the concept. This time, with sufficient planning - my son booked a table in June - we were able to try the Nest experience at last. And what a brilliant experience it was. We sat down to enjoy the eight-course tasting menu and loved every one of them. They were all memorable in their way but I particularly enjoyed the fish dishes. Each plate was delivered to the table with a full description of its contents and the courses arrived at sufficient intervals for us not to feels rushed. We declined the offered wine flight but were given ample advice to select a bottle to share. It's one of the most expensive restaurant meals I have ever had to pay for but it was also the best. Worth every penny.

There is nothing I would change. The concept; the food, the wine and the service were all incredible! Very impressive and great value. The food was soooo nice and the staff incredibly friendly. Can’t wait to visit again and try more places under the same theme

I can’t rate this restaurant highly enough . We enjoyed the tasting menu & accompanying wine. The food, wine, service & atmosphere were simply amazing. The Nest is one of the best culinary experiences in Newcastle. We’ll definitely be back.
