An oasis of calm in a busy shopping environment in South Shields. Perfectly cooked and presented mushroom benedict served by very friendly and pleasant staff. Worth another visit for sure.

I recently picked up breakfast to go from Mio's, and it was a fantastic experience! The staff was fast and polite, and the take-away service made it convenient. The food was delicious, a great option for a quick and tasty meal on the go.Highly recommend!

Went for lunch , food was good nearly finished meal moved lettuce leaf with fork and there was a hair under it . Told one of the servers , bear in mind i had not askedfor my money back at ,all just told them about the hair . She then came back with the plate ,money in other hand , and said we dont know were the hair has come from as all our servers have long hair. But you can have your money back . No sorry about that nothing , so i said are you saying its mine and i put it there . I said keep the money and walked out . Not a sorry or what can we do . Just no blame because they have long hair .

Been here a few time and never disappoints! Lovely family coffee shop, staff are friendly and helpful. Food and drinks were delicious as always. Defo somewhere to pop in if you are passing! Will be back soon Mio!

I've visited the cafe during the day several times now with family. The food is OK. It's quite a smart cafe but the food and coffee quality is quite basic. The service also is a bit ropey. You can order something quite simple but it always seems to take longer than it should to come. There has always been plenty of staff but they don't seem to do a lot. The main thing I found strange is that once you are finished your food they don't come and remove the dishes. So you're left trying to finish your coffee with a messy table. It's a nice looking place but it doesn't seem the staff have much experience in how a restaurant works.

I've been a few times 'cos it's always been okay, but this time was so disappointing. The breakfast was okay, but nothing special, the staff didn't seem to want to be there, and they refused to honour loyalty cards. These are cards that should entitle us to a drink 'on the house' after buying quite a few and earning them (and showing loyalty, I suppose), but they have seemingly, and suddenly, decided to not recipricate customer loyalty ! If loyalty cards are offered/used and they don't honour them we are being conned, aren't we !
